How to use this tool correctly
The correct grip method for a chain cutter is to hold it horizontally with one hand (such as the left hand), tightly grip the crossbar with your fingers, clamp the chain between the positioning teeth of the chain cutter, then tighten the screw at the bottom of the chain cutter, align the top rod with the connecting pin of the chain, and use the other hand to rotate the top rod slowly. When cutting, it depends on the tactile sensation to determine the optimal state. But there is still a principle that is never to completely sell out. On the surface, the pin appears to be a cylinder, but it is actually a bit hyperbolic, with thick ends and thin middle. If it is completely pushed out, it cannot be installed without some violent means. At the same time, it is best for the pin to protrude slightly on the inside of the chain, 0.5mm is sufficient, so that when reconnected, it will easily hang on the other end, making it easier to connect. It should be noted that the section that is cut off and connected usually has a slight jerky rotation, requiring a few forceful back and forth movements with your hands.

Almost identical to the "White Lightening" chain breaker sold at Walmart, which I have used for a few years and loved. My White Lightening broke this week (photos), so I bought this near identical replacement. The thread pitch is different, but otherwise the two are identical. The fact that mine broke may be a strike against purchasing this, but I found my White Lightening worked much better than two other chain breakers I was using previously. So I'll take my chances again with this new one. Used the White Lightening with success on kids bikes and on 7-8-9-10 speed chains. Broke when I torqued a 9 speed chain in it. I'll update after I've used it a few times which will take a few months.
