This is a great seat post. The shock absorption works as intended.Quality material and excellent finished milling, etc.I wish I could use it, but alas it's too long for my bike.I have the floating seat that's above the rear shock, so the seat post can't drop down too far or it interferes with the suspension. (Freesky Warrior Pro M-350 bike)If you're in the market for a 30.0 x 350mm shock absorbing seat post, you can't go wrong with this one.Recommend, just be sure you know what you need, and what you're getting.

The seat post that I received did not compress at all under my weight (160 lbs). I ended up having to completely disassemble the seat post. I found that the parts that are supposed to slide over each other were locked tight. I had appropriate tools and knowledge to get them loose. After that, I cleaned off the "lubricant" and replaced it with a high-quality all-temperature silicone grease. After I reassembled the seatpost is works as intended. Oh, the included instructions are completely useless as to how to adjust the level of support based on your weight. If you decide to purchase this, look at the images in the description for how to adjust the level of support. You will need a 6 mm hex key to attach your seat to the seatpost and to adjust the level of support.

This is a good value suspension seatpost but with qualifications and reservations. DETAILS HERE. We hope this information is helpful in your decision. Our family has more mountain bikes than family members who ride (mixture of 3 Specialized Stumpys, 2 Treks, 1 Cannondale and others). Some might say I know way more than enough to play a bike mechanic on TV.KEY POINTS:- The spring is more than somewhat on the stiff side. As delivered I would only recommend if the rider weighs 170lbs or more (or maybe 190lbs or more).- The instructions are not completely useless, they actually describe how this works (if it's within a reader's capacity to understand). And they have a diagram of what's inside. We took it apart to see. But some parts of the instructions are not accurate and/or not applicable.- This just has a stacked steel spring and solid elastomer plug spring inside. Therefore this is adjustable for preload only (you cannot change the spring rate like an air suspension). The spring preload can be adjusted by the threaded collar at the top (hand adjustable while installed) or the threaded plug at the bottom (only accessible removed from the bike frame seat tube).- You do not want to loosen the plug at the bottom f the post so more than only a couple full threads are not engaged. The instructions actually say "shall be fully engaged inside the tube".-order the exact size your bike frame needs. If the existing tube is an exact fit just pull it out and check the size stamped on it. bikes have alot of sizes really close together so without special measuring tools it is hard to tell.- this would definitely benefit from a higher quality lubricant/grease.This is a 4 star since if you are looking for something that is robust yet not a high end (high dollar) highly engineered featherweight seatpost, this may suit you (as long as you weigh 190lbs or more). Also remember this pricepoint (about 30 bucks right now) and what this is.We hope this information is helpful in your decision. Cheers ! !

I got the 27.2 seatpost width for my 10 year old roadie hybrid turned gravel bike and it fit correctly. The build is aluminum and feels quite sturdy.Installation was a mostly simple affair. However, the included instructions on paper were awful coming from someone who never used a suspension seatpost before. You'll have to read the instructions on the product page. "Suitable for riders weighing 50kg (110lbs) to 100kg (220lbs). Adjust the bottom screw clockwise for heavier riders and counterclockwise for lighter riders." Loosening it too much causes the screw to come off, but it's easy to put back. The saddle mount is a single bolt design which makes it easier, but would've preferred the 2 bolt style personally. Then I lubed the post with my own grease and then clamped it on at 5nm with my torque wrench.I sat on my saddle to test it out, feeling the spring of the suspension bounce back, adjusting it further until it felt right. Then took out the bike for a ride. I would say the suspension is quite noticeable and helped a lot with smoothing out road and dirt path chatter. My ride is now way more comfortable.Beware that the suspension adds 1.5 inches of additional height on your seatpost. If your current seatpost is already dialed in and clamped all the way in, this might not be for you.

I bought a full suspension e-bike here at Amazon a few months back, and the rear suspension was too firm for me. After much research, I decided to try this PeakRider suspension seat post to see if that would improve the ride quality and shock absorption. When the package arrived, I opened it, and my first impression was that this is a nice, sturdy, quality item, and it was well packaged. I couldn't wait to try it out, so I installed it right away, and it only took a couple of minutes to remove my old standard seat post and install this new suspension seat post.I got ready and went on a ride of about 15 miles around areas where I knew the roads were bumpy and rough. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much the ride comfort and quality improved with just this simple, inexpensive, and easy-to-install upgrade. Since I ride my e-bike a lot all around town, comfort is a big issue, and this seat post really makes a difference. It does have an adjustment screw at the bottom of the seat post to make the ride softer or firmer, but the factory setting was perfect for me. Keep this in mind if it comes a little too soft or firm for your taste. Adjusting it is very easy with just an Allen wrench/hex key.If you are looking to improve the ride comfort and quality of your bike rides (e-bike or regular bike), then this is a product you should consider.
