The antenna has very poor range, had to be within 10 feet for it to work. Much worse than the old one for the driveway gate.

Much better than the original antenna for my electric gate but not with as much distance as I would've hoped... just more consistent opening than the original antenna.

I, like many others, had intermittent issues with opening my garage door. I thought the motor unit was going to have to be replaced. But I tried what others suggested by adding an antenna. It was tricky to install, but it worked like a charm! No more intermittent issues!Specifically, I liked the clean look of this antenna rather than a traditional rod-style antenna. It came with mounting screws and the wall mount. More importantly, it fixed the intermittent-opening problem! If you have an older garage door opener unit with a hanging wire as the antenna like mine, it's a little tricky to attach. You'll need to be a little handy with tools because you'll need to attach the center of the connector to the hanging antenna wire and ground the outside if the connector to the opener case. I cut the connector off, stripped the cable, attached the handing antenna wire to the cable's center conductor, and the shield braid to the case of the opener using an existing case screw. If you've done this kind of work before, it takes less than 15 minutes to install. There are more elegant ways to install, like adding a new coax connector to the case of the opener and wire directly to the logic board, but sometimes a simple installation removes the possibility of messing something else up during disassembly and installation of the elegant solution. :)

Can’t tell a lot of difference between original stick antenna and this one. Maybe a few feet more on reception but not much. No obstacle in the way of reception
