I’ve not written a review before.. However, I felt I needed to let buyers know. The description and picture of the dog appears to be off white.However, the wool I received was light reddish brown color.I am a beginner and the instructions show just pictures and state what the picture is. They do not say how much wool material you need for each picture or how to make it. So you need to guess on how much wool you’ll need for each piece of the body? The video referenced on the instructions to watch only shows you how they make the dog. But no verbal instructions.Beginners beware.

I have been needle felting for years and have actually sold many of my creations and taken a lot of commissions! Needle felting is a really fun and satisfying art, but it takes a lot of determination, practice and research. It can be satisfying! As far as the kit goes, it includes everything you need to get started and is priced really well as far as needle felting kits go. If this is your first time needle felting, rest assured it will take you a lot of time and stabbing to recreate the panda as pictured, unfortunately the instructions are a lot more basic than the finished result. The finished panda in the picture was made by someone who professionally needle felts- so give yourself time and grace to practice. This is not a quick craft, and those needles are sharp, so do be careful and supervise young children closely! This kit is best for someone with a little experience/prior knowledge/ability to research or someone who has access to another person with experience that can guide them. Like I said, really great kit for the price, but with very little guidance to achieve results as pictured. Wool and needles are nice quality. Be careful with your needles- if you break the tip with overzealous stabbing, they will not work anymore at all. I did not have that happen with these needles, but I’ve had it happen in the past with other needles. That tip needs to stay sharp and straight!

This kit produces a round enough finished piece that it doesn't ask for extreme sculpting skills. So it's good for someone looking to challenge themselves from beginner kits into sculptural kits.This will ask you to combine the different body pieces (head, torso, bottom, limbs, paws, ears) together after felting them individually, which is a vital skill to learn. The directions aren't as clear as some other kits, but they are still visual, so you can get the gist.I only built the panda, not the bamboo shoot.The kit has all the felt you'd need, but I would recommend buying more needles. Maybe I'm just a rough felter, but I break needles pretty frequently, especially when attaching pieces.

This BKDRL Needle Felting Kit for panda is fun to do. DEFINITELY WATCH THE VIDEO included in the Amazon online product description for the instructions!!! I think it's labeled "beginner" because it comes with the needles and foam sheet. This is not complicated when you watch the video and you see how it is supposed to be put together with every needle stick. The written directions included in the kit are just for a reference guide. I went MUCH slower with my needle sticks because of physical limitations, but the wool reacted the same as when they went fast. It took me a couple of hours but not all at the same time (I had to rest my hands sometimes). The panda is super cute and I like that it is correct to the real animals and not a comical or baby'ish looking panda that is not accurate in its shape or coloring. Bottom Line: WATCH THE VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS!!!

I have never needle felted before, and I was expecting this to be a kit that gave clear instructions on what to do. The kit consisted of the needles, the wool, the pad, a luminous yellow pipe cleaner, and the other necessary items to make the dog. However, the instructions consisted of a series of very poor photos, nothing much in writing, and no link to the video that was supposed to help. It is a wonder that I was able to produce the Akita dog at all! For the most part it was guesswork and my crafting abilities. I was happy that I managed to produce something that resembled the product, but this was not something for a beginner or a child to attempt. Please rewrite the directions BKDRL, and link the video.

I enjoy doing crafts so much and I have recently started learning how to do needle felting. For me it’s rather difficult and there is a bit of a learning curve. However, I just keep on practicing. This kit has such a cute design. I wouldn’t necessarily say that this is a beginner’s kit though. Like I mentioned, I’ve done a few of these kits but yet this one is still a bit challenging for me. Regardless, it’s a cute kit with some light details and definitely brings a few hours of fun!
