The Bypass fuel pressure regulator is charged with sending the excess fuel back to the tank. It’s a simple mechanical device consisting of a diaphragm and a spring that is typically controlled by engine vacuum. As manifold vacuum changes with engine rpm, the diaphragm moves, opening/closing a secondary passage for the fuel to exit and return to the fuel tank

This item is frequently returned, and I know why. Only instructions are here in pictures and contradict! The bottom port is the return to tank. The 2 side ports are interchangeable; pump to Engine Nipple is for vacuum but can be capped. Use thick Teflon tape Works beautifully! Can adjust it as low as 1 psi or high as pump will allow consistently, engine running or not! Can hear excesses gas filling tank up. Will release all pressure in lines when pump is off.Great price for an amazing product that works perfectly setup right!!!

Looks good and all but the performance sucks. Trying to get it to hold a certain psi is none existent with this thing. Once I had it set drove the truck and it lost pressure, then sitting at idle after cranking the truck back up it goes 25 psi over what I had set then goes back down to no pressure. Spend a little extra money on a known good brand and don't fool around with this one. It absolutely sucks.

Don’t waste your time orMoney, buy a holly. Won’t regulate consistently. Set it at 3 psi, after a hour it will go down to 1, set it back to 3, then it went to 12 and flooded my carburetor. To much fuel will wash the cylinder and cause damage, and damage the seat in the carb. Really not worth it to buy this cheap junk.
