They look like more expensive low friction rings, but still have rough machining grooves on what is supposed to be the polished low friction surfaces (think like grooves on a record). This might be OK for static applications, but I wouldn't use them for anything dynamic. The anodizing is quite thin and scraped off in some places in shipping.

These are really well machined, with great anodizing. Definitely low friction, I got these to try out with an ATV, which is NOT their intended purpose. They worked well for what I tried them for, and they are definitely a lot stronger than I thought they would be; I did not encounter and deformation. I can only assume these would work really well for what they were designed for.

Sometimes it pays to pay attention. This is one of those times where I didn't! I had thought I was buying a snatch ring to be used with my ATV winch. That is not what these are, they're primarily for sailing. While I'm sure I could use them as such in a pinch, I would rather not given the tension and force involved in winching. Having said that, these are a good quality ring with a solid anodized coating. They should stand up to a good amount of wear when used as intended. I'm sure I'll find a use for mine, it just won't be on a sailboat!

Very well made riggings ring. Strong light and well machined,there are 5 rings in package and they are excellent size that covers sailboats from 27 to 35 feet.it is made to be spliced with up to 5/8 line. It works nice with both twisted pair and braided lines.For test purpose I spiced it with 1/2 nylon (easy to braid) rope to show how much room there actually is.it is aluminum ring anodized and it can take salt water.Overall very satisfied with price and quality. Excellent deal.I will post more pictures when it gets installed on boat.

These friction rings are well made. Machined smooth with a matt finish meant to create a small amount of friction for controlled movements. This differs from the polished version found in the recovery rings that are meant for maximum pull with less resistance. These rings would be great for use on sailboats or trying to rig ropes to pull an object from multiple angles in a controlled manner.
