Quality was just okay. Weave of basket was a bit strange. Ended up reordering something similar from a different company and liked it better. The basket is bigger up top than the bottom. There is a gradual change in size but then about 3/4 of the way up a more dramatic change in size and it just wasn't for me although some may not mind if. I'm very picky though.

We keep a bucket of sunflower seed near the front door for refilling bird feeders. For years an orange 5 gallon bucket served this function. We like woven baskets and have several, but bird seed needs a liner, so the Bluewest 4.5 gallon with its plastic liner is perfect. It's really too nice a basket to call it a trash can. It's interestingly made from water hyacinth, an invasive plant we used to keep in our water garden. There wasn't any odor when it was unpacked and the quality of construction seems excellent--true to the image on the item page. The lid fits well, though of course it can't seal since can and lid are woven; there are four ingenious woven loops in the lid so it stays in place. For our purpose we do wish it was a bit larger, but it works fine as is and will fit pretty much anywhere you want to keep it. Hopefully it will last.
