These things are sturdy and will absolutely get the job done. But in a house setting, they look way too much like they belong in a hospital.

I’d say these are definitely life savers they were affordable and easy to install. Our door locks had started to dent the walls therefore we looked for door stoppers and found these. We used longer screws than the ones that came with the kit because we already had a couple of deep dents in the wall but I can say that the normal ones that come in the kit could be used. I just felt that longer ones could make it sturdy. Unfortunately one of them kept dropping the medal plate but it still works.
