I had to replace the old ones from my 2004 sea pro sv1900. AT 1st I tried to weld a new stainless pipe to the bottom and insert a new brass coupling, but that didnt turn out that great. Luckily i found these for $27 ea and were stainless....you cant beat them they are perfect. The only thing is the overall measuements arent correct on the listing. These are 4"×8" NOT 5"x9". Perfect match to my originals.

I needed to replace the seat base in my boat as it was worn out and starting to rust (steel, not aluminum). This one fits in exactly where the original one was. I didn't need to cut or drill any new holes in my deck. This base seems to be quite sturdy and solidly constructed. I expect to get many years use from this seat base.

Picture looks like your purchase 2, but it is only for one. The 316 SS would be for a life time but not cost effective for a Jon boat.

This seat base is well designed and sturdy. It has many reinforcement fins on the shank to support weigh shifts, and it's all aluminum construction will ensure you don't' have to deal with rust or discoloration. This made a great replacement for my old one on my boat. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this base, highly recommend if you need a replacement. (it did not come with mounting screws, I would recommend paying a little extra and getting stainless) (pictures were not included as the ones in the advertisement are exact representations of the product)
