The foot print is fairly large but very stable. I used a turnbuckle to mount and remove. A couple of modifications with the correct seat, you will be pleased. Perfect for a casting deck when you want sit for a while

Got this for my sit in kayak. Don't like low kayak seats. Got this and a swivel base and a $30 Attwood seat. Unconventional for a sit in kayak, but works great for me. Don't worry about the stiff swivel when installing. It is just right with your body weight on it. Love the ability to take it out of the boat and use it on shore too.

If they are going to advertise as aluminum construction then they need to supply a product that is made out of aluminum. Do yourself a favor and buy the same thing advertised as steel construction for $20 less.

great addition to our inflatable boat,(we have two seat stands) a bit too high for us so I cut off 2 " on the legs and installed a washer inside the rubber foot so it should last a long time, very satisfied
