At first I didn't like these. I was intending to use it as a thimble to protect my finger when hand quilting. But, the silicon is fairly thin and stretchy so the back of the needle still poked me. But then I realized that it was quite sticky/grippy, so I changed my technique. I can now easily grip and PULL the needle through instead of pushing it from the back. Problem solved.

I do a lot of quilting, appliqué and embroidery and my hands are not getting any younger. The finger tip really helps in holding onto the needle, particularly going through thick layers or using a larger chenille needle and thicker thread. This is my second package!

I use lace tip knitting needles and after working on smaller sized needles I tend to come away with holes poked in my index fingers. These little wonders keep my fingertips whole instead of "hole" and I can knit longer with less time in between for recovery.

These things are great. I'd never seen them until I was watching an online tutorial and they were mentioned. They really make stitching and quilting a lot easier. And they arrive quickly.
