I wanted to use this one primarily for jewelry. My only issue with it is the matchup of the plier's tips. I have another split ring plier that I use for fishing lures. It has a slightly longer lower jar that has a slightly ribbed jaw. When working with small split rings I find that style to be superior to this one's style. Of course, that is all my personal opinion and is what I was used to. I'm sure that over time I will adapt to this one too.The plier is small, comfortable and the finish should hold up well in any situation.

Used this to install the smallest treble hook on a small jerk bait. Took a few minutes but worked great.

They were too small two separate the split rings for my Lures. they might be fine for small freshwater tackle but I fish saltwater. Also too small for my hands due to the fact I have arthritis in my thumb.

I'll cut to the chase: this kit is a HECKA value. For only a few bucks more than the cheap Chinese kits (although to be fair I'm sure everything in this Booms kit is Chinese too), you get super high quality polished stainless flat split rings and a pair a really nice stainless split ring pliers.The pliers are really small (interestingly, they're the exact same size as jewelry pliers), but if you choke up on them they work fine.The measurements listed in the description are all ID… so if you're interested in the OD sizes, I measured them for your sizing pleasure:ID/OD6.0/9.05.0/7.04.5/6.44.0/5.73.5/5.0I haven't been using these long enough to make a statement on durability or rust resistance, but things look good enough for me to take the time to write a review. If anything drastic happens, I'll come back and post an update, but as of right now, I'm a super happy camper!

The handles are kind of short, makes the ends of them dig into your palms a bit on stronger split rings. Overall they work great and seem to be really good quality.
