As far as the gripper goes it works good, but the built in scale is VERY hard to read.

As a fish lipper its fine. No scale- not that I trusted it, but it retains sand even when washed and emersed every trip. It holds sand in the handle. After 4 trips in the breakers it no longer spins and will does not provide weight measurements.

Bought this to replace a plastic one. Scale is kind of hard to read. Gripper works well. Good price. Worth the money.

I'm in the northeast, it handles blues and bass well. Not only does it handle fish and weigh it, there's a great safety feature, the handle SPINS!!! This is great when big fish tend to try to muscle their way off therefore puts less pressure on you as you hold the fish. The only other fish gripperthat is like this is the BOGA. Let that sink in.

The scale is unreadable can barely read it even with a flash light the numbers are so small and lightly etched in they should have put in black bold bigger numbers. But it looks like a good sturdy fish holder but that is not what I wanted it for use less as a scale.

It will work as a lip grabber, but you cannot read the scale for the weight.If you are buying it for the scale look elsewhere.
