Bought this for my CZ457 Varmint MTR. Used one to clean my barrel and chamber. Cleaned the barrel excellently. Took out quite a bit of the carbon ring but still had to go back in with a brass brush to get it all of the way out. Fit the chamber and barrel nicely. 8/32 thread fit my rod perfectly. Great brushes for basic cleaning.

The problem I have with brass brushes is the bristles bend and therefore lose their effectiveness in cleaning . . . At least that's the way it seems to me. I use one of these today to clean a 17 HMR rimfire and found it to be very effective in the multiple passes through the barrel, but came out looking just like new ( as to holding it's shape ). The design is good as it holds the bristles in a position to perform the cleaning around the lands and grooves of the rifling. I do not own a borescope for a 17 HMR thus I cannot verify the cleaning job, but the patches were coming out with no signs of powder, copper, or lead remaining in the barrel. I update later after a few more range sessions.

Don't have to get fancy. use with BoreTech Eliminator, good stuff for .22 fouling. These are good for fine groove barrels too.

Good bore brush. I am not using it to scrub out leading or gilding metal, but to clear out power residue. They work fine for this.
