I had spent a tremendous amount of time trying to figure out how to print different paper size, after also purchasing a second tray. It is important that you install the drivers and software from brother website to ensure you get the printer setup correctly. The printer and support from Brothers is very good. As long as you follow all the install directions.

I had trouble getting this printer. Shipping said one date then it changed to a much longer period than expected, but overall not too bad.The printer was the faster, easiest set up that I’ve ever had with a printer. I have already printed a couple hundred pages with absolute easy. I would definitely recommend this printer to anyone in a small-side business. It was worth the wait!

I have purchased a number of Brother printers over the years for our offices and they have all been above average. This one is also above average (mostly), however let the buyer beware..... Read on. I needed to replace an earlier model in our office in Chile, so naturally I looked to Brother. I would have ordered it on Amazon, but I needed one that would operate on 220V 50Hz and Amazon said the one they offered only ran on 120V 60Hz. Plus Amazon shipping doubled the landed cost here over the local price. So I bought local. The printer purchased here is physically the same and in fact came with both US and Chile power cords, so will operate on either voltage. So everything is great with the printer itself, but here's the rub. The display language cannot be changed from Spanish. There are directions that tell how to do it but the referenced menu DOES NOT EXIST. There is a cryptic note on the Brother site that says that some options may not be available in some countries. After a frustrating half day and two long calls with Brother tech support, I was informed that in fact the option to change languages is not available on the machine that I bought. This may not inconvenience you, but if you are somewhere overseas it will probably be of great irritation to you. Yes, I do speak passable Spanish, but it is a PITA to have to decipher all of the (stupidly abbreviated) menu settings all the time. What could the geniuses at Brother possibly be thinking? Chile is one of the most modern and prosperous countries in South America. There are people doing business here from all over the world and they brought their native languages with them. The menu item already exists, but it can't be made available here. Because why??? This flaw will be small issue for most, and perhaps it's whiny of me to complain, but I can think of few better ways to piss off your customers than putting them through a half day of wasted time and international long distance calls searching for a no-brainer feature that should be there and is in fact described in all the documentation that comes with the machine. This will definitely cause me to expand my horizon to other providers for our future printer purchases.
