For the price I expected a very light frying pan, I was pleasantly surprised. This set up is on par with our normal 12”, but lets us cook two items at a time.Well worth the money.

This cast iron pan is a great addition to my barbecue. It is quite versatile. The higher sides prevent liquids from spilling over into the barbecue. It is much easier to clean the pan, rather than the barbecue. Just have to wipe down the barbecue after cooking with this pan. It comes with two instruction papers. One says it is pre-seasoned. I don't feel that their pre-seasoning is adequate. I washed the pan and seasoned it. I wash the pan after each use and lightly season it for the next use.

Looks like a well-made pan, don't have any doubts that it would've worked just fine - but sadly, I couldn't handle it, it's just too heavy for me.

I goofed when buying this. It is a great value, but the griddle only fits 1 2/3 of 2 burners and I ended up ordering another one that was bigger to fit. I still give it 5 stars because in my opinion that was on me, the dimensions were clearly stated. All is not lost, it will make a great emergency item in my kitchen. I can still fill the bottom with hot coals and put the griddle on off center to air and cook during a power outtage or take camping etc, or even use on my grill for smaller foods that might fall through the cracks. It is heavy and we'll made and to me that beautiful cast iron pan color. For griddle use you don't have to oil before cooking meats, maybe a little butter.. Maybe a little spray of oil before cooking eggs or pancakes on the flat side. If done right and three is a bit of a learning curve and nothing will stick.Cast iron is easy to clean, just make sure not to use abrasive cleaners and dry fully in the oven.It really is a beautiful piece and I can't wait to make corn bread in the bottom part. It just tastes different and Better

Update: 1 year later…I have too many(100+) cast pieces. This one doesn’t leave my immediate accessibility b/c of the versatility and size. This is one of the 4 pieces that stay out for daily/weekly use. I have a fam of 7 and it finds uses all the time. For 2 people it’s overkill, but 3+/entertaining, it’s hard to beat with the straight sided walls, depth, width, reversible lid, and all the cast iron benefits. Is it rough, yep, but a pot doesn’t NEED to be smooth like a skillet. It’s smooth enough. I took down some of the roughness inly on the flat/griddle side of the top as a personal upgrade, but it was a finer-grain casting to begin with than other non-premium cast. For the made in USA lifers, I get anything I can find but this isn’t available from USA-made. Give it a try.Grill top preheated in the 425 degree oven for beautifully roasted veggies(plus grill marks) are perfect.Inverted dutchie for bread makingLarge stew/chili potRoasted 2-3 pounds of crispy Brussels sprouts in open potRoom for roast/chicken/turkey plus veggies to brown and crisp for rich gravy while the meat rests.Cast iron pizza stone.Original post 8/22/23: Really should be called a braiser. Plenty of volume, wide flat surface to allow plenty of room to sear/brown without crowding(steamed gray is not browned), and deep walls to hold volumes of ingredients/ liquids.Have only used the lid as a lid so far, but polished down the rough casting on the griddle side for a more refined finish to season up for better non-stick cooking.Highly recommend for cooking for a small group

Wonderful roasting pan especially for ribs, large steaks and large salmon filets. Heats evenly in oven and gas stove. The pan is heavy but worth the effort.

It's a good cookware bundle for camping but not easy to clean and is heavy.
