While the hone works well, the rod/shank is not nearly long enough to recondition a full shotgun barrel. (Even going from each side) I think the idea is that you only need to hone the area near the breech. This is not well described in the product description.

As a machinist of 30 years I knew tricks to make this work but the average person will only damage his/ her barrel . No response from customer service

Use it to clean up a couple of very rough chambers and forcing cones. Just wish they were a little less expensive.
