It’s the perfect size. I love the grooves at the bottom of the tray, which makes it easier to clean my paint brushes. I love the paintbrush rests on the other side, so I can set my brushes aside, but still have them within easy reach. The little holes that hold the brushes I find helpful as well. I don’t much use the lid because I have other pallets that I prefer, but I imagine it would be quite useful for mixing colors. It is made of the hard type of plastic (more like acrylic, less like a Rubbermaid container), so I imagine if you were to drop it on a hard surface it would crack easily. However, if you take care of it properly, it should last quite a while. All in all, I find it very useful.
