Worked great while it did, but a little less than 14 months later it started leaking and had to be replaced. It's not a cheap carafe and the Bunn name should mean quality, but I'm sadly disappointed with this purchase and will now have to find an alternative.

So, I heated the airpot up with 3l of boiling water before adding freshly brewed coffee at around 5pm for an evening event. Around 11am the next day, the coffee was still quite warm and fresh. It wasn't super hot, but it was comfortable drinking temperature. The pot was easy to clean with a bottle brush. It doesn't retain water like many carafes when you wash them.

great price and generous size - will hold approximately 2.5 post of coffee. We use this for an office, bought one for regular and one for decaf for a small 15 person office. I found that we do not actually use this much coffee and without filling them both up complete, the coffee will become cold sooner that wanted. I read a review that suggested smaller size unless you need the greater capacity - I would agree that this might be the case.Upside - we are not cooking the coffee all day long. Easier cleanup in morning at end of day.

The only thing better than this is my BUNN commercial brewer with the auto water line!!! Anyway, I just love BUNN products. This thing is great. I've been meaning to order one of these for a few years for our Christmas light festival. I have a lot of kids and it is extremely expensive if we don't bring our own cocoa. Anyway, I tried a wal mart one and it was too small, I would have needed two or three, plus it was cheaply made. The size of this is great for about 8-9 people. I actually will probably order another one. I ordered this two days before our planned trip and it actually arrived the very next day. I just love Amazon too!!! We took it with us and it kept everything so hot that the kids couldn hardly drink the cocoa. From now on, I'm going to make the cocoa to the temp we like because this thing keeps it about the same temp as when you made it hours before. I figured it would cool by the time we drank it, but no. It was easily 6 hours or so after I made it and it was still around the same temp. It is good quality and has no ceramic inside to crack or break if it falls. Ours got dropped and thrown around and I feel comfortable that it will hold up for years just like myBUNN commercial coffee pot I had installed in my house. We use our coffee maker probably 5-6 times a day at our house plus hot water several times a day from the dispenser and it has lasted for years with no problems at all. Obviously BUNN is quality. They also have good customer service, because when we needed some information regarding our coffee machine after we got it, they were very helpful over the phone and actually had live people there to help me.

PERFORMANCE:Choosing a Size of Airpot is Up to You: I think you should purchase the smallest sized airpot you need, because the airpot works best when full. Plus I would think it would keep the coffee hotter, if the whole container is full as opposed to half full.I bought the largest one I could find, thinking that most of the time I wouldn't need to fill it up, but occasionally I might. Not understanding that you have to pump compressed air into the tank to force liquid up the down tube.PUMP TEST:My first 8 oz cup drawn takes 3 pumps. When the Airpot is 20% full, it takes me 4 to 5 pumps to fill the same size cup. The Airpot becomes slightly less efficient the lower the coffee gets. But amazingly, it will push out almost every drop of the coffee. If you have to pump excessively, see below, under "Problems Solved".After several uses, I did a test where I filled the Airpot only half full and when I pushed down on the lever, the coffee started flowing. I was surprised. It did not come gushing out like it does when full, but it worked on the first pump, even though it was only half full. The pump is very efficient and about as good as you could possibly hope for.TEMPERATURE TEST:I filled the Airpot with 128 oz coffee and measured temp.Start: 170 degrees F1 hour later: 163 degrees (no coffee pumped out, still full)2 hour later: 156 degrees6 hour later: 145 degrees-----------------------------PARTS:To find Bunn's website for parts, you can use a search engine to find " coffeemakerbunn" or type it in as a website name. Amazon doesn't let you put website names in reviews. Here you can order replacement parts for your airpot. You can replace entire lid assembly which holds the pump and baffle. Or you can replace the spout assembly that holds the downspout.Just use the "search box" to find the parts you need. The website is outdated and a little difficult to navigate. For instance, there isn't a page that just has Airpot Replacement Parts that I could find. However, if you search for airpot lid Or airpot parts, you can find them. Use the search box.---------------------PROBLEMS SOLVED:First problem fixed: This is my first airpot and I was upset that it took 10 to 12 pumps to fill an 10 oz coffee cup. I was on the verge of returning it, when I stumbled on the fact that the straw or down tube was not super tight inside of the spout assembly. It certainly seemed tight enough, but when I exerted a lot of force and really shoved it up in there super tight, my airpot suddenly filled a cup in only 3 pumps! So if you are having to pump an excessive number of times, maybe try tightening up the down tube and the spout tube, in the spout assembly. The black plastic spout tube where the coffee comes out, has a tiny notch cut into it so that when you shove it on the spout assembly, you line the spout up correctly.Second Problem: Metric System! haha This is a ONE GALLON Pot! 3.8L equals One GallonThird Problem: You will need to purchase a special cleaning brush to clean the 10 inch tall stainless down tube. You can get them on Amazon. They are often called water bottle brushes. They are narrow, long brushes that will clean things like this. Cheap enough, just didn't know I was going to need one when I ordered this.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CONCLUSIONAs far as picking a size, I am now noticing that many churches seem to go with 2 small airpots, versus one large one. That allows you to have decaf or flavors or addresses the issue of the airpot working best when completely full. Having it to do over again, I might would have gone with the 2 small airpots, instead of one giant one!
