Not an easy lot in means of germination or transplant, kind of weak seeds IMHO.A previous review mentions bacterial wilt which sounds appropriate from my experiences so far. I've completely sterilized my potting medium, used RO water and top shelf nutrient mixes.Low percentage of germination, as well as plants that struggler after being transplanted and need frequent attention.

had well over 95% germination. Plants are growing full and fast and are full of blooms and nice large tomatoes. Its still a bit early here this year due to our spring, but plants are disease fee and vey healthy. Burpee is always one of my top go to for seeds

Point: By default, Amazon asks for a review within a week or two of you receiving the item. In this case, we are talking about a packet of tomato seeds. Obviously, the most important thing about seeds is something that cannot be evaluated until harvest, which happens months later! So, this review will focus on the less import aspect of the product: namely, the packet of seeds itself.Brandy Boy is a proprietary hybrid that belongs to the Burpee Company. It is supposed to have all the desirable qualities of the Pink Brandywine, but without that famous 19th century tomato's limitations. Supposedly, Brandy Boy will produce 10x more fruit while also being far more disease resistant. The problem, though, is that Burpee charges an arm and a leg for a packet of 35 seeds. This offering on Amazon lets you save the shipping cost: which is significant! However, in January and February, the Burpee web page starts offering these seeds on sale for about the same price or maybe a little bit less. And remember: Seeds are good for about 4 or 5 years. You don't automatically need new seeds every year. Starting 3 years after you buy the seeds, just plant a few more than you did in years 1 and 2, in case the germination rate goes down.

I had better success with these seeds than any other I have tried. Gemination was great and they produced very plump tomatoes great for canning to use in chili or other tomato dishes also great slicing for sandwiches or eating raw. They all ripened close together so makes them good for canning or freezing. Will use them again next year. I also planted a few indeterminate tomato seeds to extend the season.

My first order of these beefsteak tomato seeds never came although they said they were delivered... They were not. I got another one sent to me that I did receive, however what I received is trash. I could tell immediately upon seeing the envelope they are in and then seeing the actual seeds that I got ripped off. It was obvious the envelope had been soaking wet at some point and also crushed. I still waited to make this review just in case they might be okay. It has been 10 days and there is no sign of germination happening. To top it off, the envelope said they would expire in less than a month from when I received them. Not sure how I'm supposed to grow 175 plants in less than a month? I'm not pleased at all with my purchase and would love a refund. We'll see if that happens...

Every single seed germinated, had multiple fruits on each plant, and it was still flowering but i had to cut them down since it already got cold outside. Had a full harvest, and they are the best tomatoes i have ever tasted. Crazy that i actually planted them in pots with no fertilizers and minimum upkeep, and had all this success. Will be buying again next year as well as other seeds, this is definitely a seller i trust and i am recommending it to all my friends who weren't successful with tomatoes this year

I cannot review plant vigor or fruit flavor yet, but I can say that every seed I started germinated. I have never had that happen before, and I use a vigorous starting method! Will follow up later on in the season. For anyone interested, soak seeds in water & peroxide solution. On the web you'll find many opinions on this, but for me it's one cap full of 3% peroxide into to a cup of water - not exact science but works for me. Soak for 8 hours in direct sun - this is key. Drain and rinse with clean water and plant in moist starting pods or soil. Place a little bit of water in the bottom of the reservoir/container and keep container covered with clear plastic lid or cellophane in sunlight during the day and on head mat at night. Most tomato seeds will pop-up in 7 days, as these did. As soon as the 1st one appears, remove the cover and allow them fresh air - the rest will be right behind. Water from bottom as needed until transplanting.

A tray of these seeds got knocked off the shelf in the green house and grew on the floor. Wonderful!! It's not time for fruit yet but they are sturdy plants
