It comes unpainted so you're going to want to scrub it clean either soapy water, remove the label with acetone and then paint and prime it once dry. I primes it with basic autobody primer and flat black acrylic enamel. I disassembled it to paint it to leave the bolt and spring and whatnot unpainted to keep the locking operation smooth. It's really easy to disassemble and reassemble. It's very easy to hitch and unhitch. Seems exceptionally heavy duty.

Like the value but it needs to be painted and the tongue lock is a bit different than most others I have used.

This coupler is working great for me and is seriously heavy duty. It's just a heavy cast pice of metal, mostly with a coupling mechanism. I attached it to my trailer using 2 5/8" class 8 bolts and have had no problems with it. Also the coupling mechanism is easy to use, easy to figure out and convenient since it latches itself when you lower the coupler onto the hitch. I wish I would have painted or preserved it in some way before using it and keeping it outdoors because it has some surface rust already after only a few weeks, but it's just on an ugly utility trailer so who cares. I recommend this coupler.

Very heavy cast iron or forged coupler. This will not bend like the stamped metal coupler it is replacing.Mounting looks simple-two holes for bolts that will go through the trailer tongue .

This is the best of the ball hitches. It latches easily and securely.It is very robust construction. and so simple it should be very reliable and long lasting.I wish they made the hitch in a weld on version. I would use it on all the trailers we make.
