I've had this wire installed for about 5 years to power some low watt (0.36w) LED wall lights. The wire is in PVC conduit that is still dry and clean inside. These circuits are rarely operational and probably have not been powered for more than 15 hours in those 5 years. The conductors are corroding and exploding their sheathing. I did not peel the sheathing in these pictures, this is how it was found and the wire has corroded to a grayish powder and mostly gone. Where the sheathing is not exploded, some areas of the wire still seems pliable. Other spots along the wire are extremely hard and any attempt to bend the wire and it just snaps, like a toothpick. The residue of the wire inside is also powdered and gray. No single run of these wires ever had more than 0.5A or 6w at 12vdc on them. Well under the NEC rating for 16awg wire. Since this is a CCA or CoAL wire, I can only guess something improper was used in the cladding process or the sheathing material that is attacking the conductor.

Product as described but is quite rigid, so not easy to work with if you need to go around tight corners, outer shielding seems a bit thin, conductor insulation also has a glossy plasticy feel, not typical of speaker wire insulation which is easier to work with and strip. Does the job though.

A very sturdy outdoor wire. Four wire for speakers. Ran approximately 200 feet and sound quality is great on my Sonance system. Much better price than other options I have seen. It’s fairly rigid so just be aware of that for install purposes.

Someone posted this review (I will share their's and then elaborate on my experience):"Used these wires to install for the patio outdoor speakers and sub. Sound started to pop and went out completely after about 7 months. Thought my subs crossover was bad, got an RMA for the sub and dug it out and saw the wires completely crumbled and disintegrator and was powdery. I would take a picture to show but nothing left at the connection to show. The wires are so brittle even that I can’t use a wire stripper as using it pulls out at least half of the wires reducing the gauge significantly. I now have to rerun new wires and waste half day to redo something that should have been a one and done."This review is exactly what I experienced. A whole channel of my outdoor landscape speakers went out. When I dug it up (only a few inches below small garden rocks) and spent 5 minutes taking off all of the perfectly looking electrical tape job, these pictures were what I found at 2 speakers. The wire was pretty much disintegrated and powdery. Even when I was redoing the wiring, every time I tried to splice to expose more wire, it is so brittle that it kept breaking. I am 100 percent positive this will happen again at other speakers. Unfortunately, eventually, I will probably have to replace it all. It has not even been installed for a year and a half. Not to mention, this wire is ridiculously stiff and hard to work with. The casing is a pain to cut open. Save yourself time and buy better wire.

I do AV for a living and my boss charges us a "considerate," 50 cents a foot for any cable we need for home projects. I need about 160ft for an outdoor speaker system and didnt feel like paying 80ish dollars for the exact amount I needed. I found this stuff, used, meaning returned, all 250ft for 80 dollars. It was a done deal at that point. Im good paying 80 for what I need plus extra.Continuity tested good all the way through so I ran my lines. Dont run this stuff on a cold day. The shielding is crappy, tough plastic. On a cooler day you wont get the twist out unless you use a blow dryer or heat gun. Would we use this at work? Nope. Works fine for home use, though.

Finally broke down and bought the right wires. Was trying to save a couple of dollars, but the 14 gauge with better insulation should have been where I went the first time.

Great wire! 100% correct awg. No misleading here. Very tough and durable honest to goodness underground wire. Thick coatings on wires (what you want) and good flexibility. Little stuff but it’s gonna be that with the wires TRUE awg. If it was flexible it would be cheap and this rating would be much different. Good wire. Sounds great!

Product is exactly as described. Wires are quality and 2/3rds the price of the big box stores. Everything was easy to unspool and footage was clearly labeled on the wire coating. Fortunately I ordered the 250 foot spool vs the 200 foot spool. Plenty of options of footage and gage of wires available.

the outside black shielding is very hard but with just a little heat from a heat gun and it becomes very soft and easy to cut back to expose inner 4 wires. I tried to cut the shielding and kept cutting through the shielding on the wires. Heated the cable up and the shielding was easy to get off with a stitch ripper. The four wires inside were great. This was a good buy
