I really wanted to love this item. It's a good concept, but, unless your cake is exactly the same size as he rings it just does not work. You have to hold your cake in place and turn the ring when you get to the support post to cut all the way around the cake. Because the rings on the opposite side are not supported in any way, they move (meaning up or down) as you cut so that is counterproductive to the purpose of this tool. On smaller cakes it is really tricky since you have to move the ring around the cake to continue your cut. I did not find it cut my cakes evenly and felt that the traditional cake saw worked just as well and probably better. Bummer.... such a good idea.

I've struggled to cut even layers for cakes and this was suggested to me by a friend. It's great! Just be sure that you know which layer you want to use before you cut, or you may inadvertently end up with extra layers and then need to make additional frosting...Or so the rumors say.

I returned this product. When you’re slicing a cake, the pieces move up and down so it’s nearly impossible to slice the cake evenly. Also, as it says in the description, it doesn’t adjust small enough for 8” cakes.

Got this for my daughter for her new home. She absolutely had a blast with it. She started learning to make cakes and this really helps her. It's great for learning layered cakes. It's sturdy, durable and simple to use. Easy to clean as well.I do recommend this product.

For the price it’s worth it, and it’s better than freehanding. The issue I have it that the sides with the cuts is not very sturdy. You need to be careful or your cuts wont be even.

while it takes care to use properly, it is strong enough. I think it is a bit too big for a small cake but I like that you can squeeze it on a larger cake while cutting (a two person job).
