I am using this power supply with a new Raspberry Pi 5 and it is working just as well as the official PSU from the Raspberry Pi folks. Using a quality PSU with the right ratings ensures that you will not see the dreaded under-voltage warning in the top right-hand corner of your screen. There's plenty of power to connect your keyboard and mouse as well as using an MVMe SSD solution for booting. The provided power switch dongle makes it veery convenient to completely remove power to the Pi without wear and tear on the USB-C power connection. Without this switch, the Pi would continue to provide power to the board and the red LED.Pros:a) Enough power for a fast-booting Raspberry Pi5 and any HATs you want to install.b) Added power on/off switch dongle.c) Ferrite filter molded into cable to prevent EMI noise from entering the power connection.d) The trusted CanaKit name.Cons:None observed!

It's rare to find a USB-C power supply of decent wattage that has a working power switch. I believe this is because the PD spec normally doesn't allow things like extensions, so the little black in-line power switches that come in Pi kits wont work above like 5W. But this powers my MiSTer just fine, leaving the PSX core running MGS idle for a week was no problem (analog AV, and only one USB peripheral). I love using the switch instead of physically disconnecting power or holding down a button, probably because I'm nostalgic for the tactile "ka-chunk" of the SNES power switch, etc.

The power supply ('brick') works great with the Raspberry Pi 5. Have 3 or 4 of these, use them all the time. The switch is a great addition, saves having to plug the brick into a power strip (or worse to unplug/replug it). The switch is simple but well made, has an LED to show when power is being applied. One minor niggle is that the switch is not quite as positive as something like a toggle switch - if you work at it, you can get it to waffle between on and off. In practice this is not a problem, just move the switch in a positive manner. As it's common to want to remove power from a Pi when working with it (such as when using the GPIO pins and changing config of stuff that is plugged in), having the switch is a big plus. Have had a number of products from CanaKit, all of them have performed at or above expectations, no duds at all - which is rather exceptional given how much Ch*n*e*e 'stuff'* that's out there as accessories for a Pi. Recommended. *stuff meaning near-worthless j-u-n-k in my experience.

When I was researching my Raspberry Pi 5 8 GB kit, I found out that while you could get by with a 15 watt Power Supply if you didn't add any extras, everybody recommended at least a 27 watt PS to be safe. But with this puppy, I'm more than safe! I don't have to worry about what I attach to my system. I have an active cooler on the main board, plus a case fan, plus port extenders and a NVME M.2 storage board, and if I wanted I could still add at least one HAT board and never have to worry about overloading my PS! Plus, it comes with an external On/Off switch! This is a really great PS to get for your RP5, especially if you have the 8 GB model!

This CanaKit 45W USB-C Power Supply with PD for Raspberry Pi 5 with PiSwitch is fantastic quality. In the Raspberry Pi world, CanaKit is a well known manufacturer of accessories and that this power supply module/kit is perfect is not surprising at all. Both USB-C and PD compatible, with an included USB-C power switch thereby making it unnecessary to unplug and reconnect the power supply to cycle the Raspberry Pi, you cannot get much better than this. I am very satisfied with this item and would not hesitate to order another if necessary, or any other CanaKit product that I might also need. Very highly recommended.

I bought the new Raspberry Pi 5 without realizing that it requires a somewhat unique power supply to properly run with attached peripherals. Mine was running fine until I had a 7" in touchscreen, a streamed 1440P camera feed and a few other devices attached, at which point I started getting low voltage warnings on the PiOS desktop. After a little research I discovered that the 5.1V rather than 5V is rather important for the Pi 5 circuitry to really be at its best. Fortunately I came across this power supply at just the right time! I love Canakit but had never used one of their power supplies, and they were naturally one of the few Pi retailers that had a purpose-built power supply for the 5 early on. It works perfectly well as advertised and I haven't had any low voltage warnings since swapping out the generic power block I was using before. My Pi runs Klipper to drive a 3D printer, so the fact that this power supply has an inline switch to easily power on or off the Pi is just a further cherry on top. Cannot recommend this power supply (or Canankit generally) enough for a Raspberry Pi 5 being utilized to the full extent of its capabilities.

Couldn't find the on/off switch standalone, so now I have 2 CanaKit power supplies, wish it was included in the Starter Kit
