I purchased this to replace the boom end that had the cable jump the spool so many times that it just didn't work anymore. Cannon must have recognized this since they redesigned to spool in the boom end so it is much less likely to have the cable jump off it anymore. Good design. I'm getting a second one for my other downrigger.
