I replaced a plastic "pully" leading from the spring and spring tensioner on a DW3000 pedal and I couldn't believe the difference. I play DW9000 pedals on another kit and I was a bit skeptical at first, but decided to give this a try since I wasn't too into the idea of spending another $350-$400 on another pedal for a different drum kit.I am glad I did. While the DW3000 is still not as smooth as the DW9000 pedals I have, this small, simple bearing makes the pedal feel completely different. It's WAY more responsive and amazingly smooth. For this secondary drum kit I am using, the DW3000 is now perfectly fine for the music I am playing with it. I have no need for a new pedal now.Spending $45 was WAY easier to swallow than $350+ dollars.

I upgraded my 10 year old dw 5000 bass drum pedal with this. Easy install and noticeable improvement.

$50 for what is essentially a ballbearing with a metal loop around it. Cost of manufacturing: $1. This may come as a surprise, but guess what? Highend pedals including the DW 9000 and Iron Cobra already come with ballbearing spring tensioners just like this Speed Star Bearing. So don't even bother if you already have an expensive pedal. With a beginner pedal, this Speed Star Bearing makes it a little bit smoother. For $10-$15 this would be a worthwhile investment for low-midend pedals, but at $50 ($100 for double pedals) it is money wasted. So save the money for a better pedal, instead of buying a cheaper pedal and this.

I've been playing drumset for a long time, so I can play on a bad pedal and still sound OK. But I do appreciate good equipment, and I've played on a DW5000 for 15 years. I recently noticed that my bearings were wearing out, and while looking for replacements (which I found and purchased) I came across these. These arrived after my new replacements from DW, so I got a chance to compare new bearing to new bearing. These Speed Star bearings are better. That's a relief, since DW only charges $11 for a replacement bearing, and these are somewhat more costly. How much better are they? I don't think it's night and day, but it's noticeably smoother and faster. Triples are easier, and the third beat is easier to accent. Longer runs of 16th notes are easier to pull off. Is it worth the money? I guess it depends how much money you have. It'll cost you about $100 to set up a double pedal. It's a nice upgrade.

Does what it claims! Makes the pedal feel much smoother. Highly recommended!
