Replace your old, leaking o-ring rather than your entire spout or gas can with Captain O-Ring’s replacement spout o-rings for Scepter SmartControl cans. Compatible with Scepter SmartControl cans used for gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and other fuels/utilities. These o-rings are only compatible with the Scepter SmartControl style cans. They will not fit other brands, models, or styles.
Compatible with Scepter SmartControl can spouts, including model numbers:

Purchased these and they do work. We never have replaced this ring, this took awhile due to the fact that the old ring had not one but 2 rings, 1 white and 1 black. Finally got those off and then put the new one on, quite tedious to say the least. Thank goodness it worked, no more gas leaking out of the can when pouring into the mower.

I love the Scepter 5 gallon gas cans and own 3. The dinky white gaskets that seal them are crap, however. Tighten enough to prevent leaks and the break. These are the perfect solution. I am keeping them on hand.

This replacement product is an effective way to stop a leak if your gas can is dripping. (Assuming a faulty O ring is to blame.) To find out you can unscrew the cap and look for the black rubber / silicon ring around the end of the screw-in portion of the spout. If the ring is torn or badly deformed out of a circular shape, then its probably a good bet that the ring is the problem.Using a flat blade screwdriver you can slide the edge of the screwdriver under the old ring, pop it off, then roll the new ring into position with your fingers. A bit of care needs to be taken since you don't won't to tear the new ring, but they are fairly durable.

O-ring was exact fit for the SmartControl gas can I thought I'd have to get rid of because it was leaking. And since Sceptre doesn't sell just this weird-sized o-ring and charges nearly as much for just a new spout & gasket as for a new 5-gallon can, this was a great value

The O rings were in a package of four. I had just purchased a new gas can because I was unable to find a replacement gasket that would prevent gas leaking from my older gas can every time I used it. This O ring was designed for my old gas can and fit perfectly and no leaks at all. I was able to return the new one for a full refund. 11.00 for 4 O rings vs 30.00 for a new gas can.
