Oh hello,This one of the easiest upgrades ever. In and out lt was done in about a half hour.Looks great and works over all very well. Sound quality is great, my only complaint on sound is it’s not as loud as the original factory radio.Android issues are here and there. Sometimes (rarely) it will not connect and the radio needs to be reset. The interface is not right away easy to figure out, but once you mess around with it for a while it’s figure-out-able.Love the look, love the buttons, love the update. It’s wayyyy worth the money for the radio. I love it.

I am amazed by this upgrade. I have a 2012 Silverado 2500HD WT. So nothing but basics including windows I roll up and down by cranking! There is no extra anything for the sound system - standard speakers, etc. You can see the OE radio unit in the picture. I say all that because I want to say more about the wiring. I was confused by looking at the mess of wires and harnesses when I opened the box. Once I got the original radio out, it became a little bit clearer. Still I didn’t find the instructions in the booklet very helpful. My radio had only 2 harnesses to remove. 1 (the power one I think) was obvious where it should plug in (the black harness). The other original harness seemed to fit in either the gray or purple harness. The white harnesses all fit just 1 place and another clip or 2 are obvious. As is also the GPS and radio antenna. Back to the gray and purple harnesses - after I connected all the obvious ones I had the gray harness connected. I turned the power on and the radio came to life and everything seemed to work. Then I adjusted the speaker balance and there was no sound in the back speakers. I decided to try the other harness and then I had sound in the back again! So, I don’t know what the gray one does but with my factory wiring the purple harness was the correct one to use. (The gray harness is not connected to anything.) I also show in a picture the unused wires and such. I don’t have a backup camera or any auxiliary in options so that may be why some of these cables aren’t needed.I have an iPhone and was excited to use CarPlay for the first time. Again, instructions weren’t really helpful. I thought I had to download the zlink5 app on my phone - but that’s NOT the case. The zlink app is on the radio itself! I guess it’s probably built in from the factory but I don’t really know. I’m not actually sure how I got CarPlay to initiate the first time. I did connect via USB at one point. I think maybe I connected as a hotspot to the radio at one point, too. Regardless, the zlink app on the radio is the one that shows up when using CarPlay. It’s amazing that this unit can add GPS to your vehicle. I haven’t figured out the map situation yet but when I drive the radio can tell me my speed, so I know GPS is working. I think that will be a nice feature in case someone else is using my truck and isn’t connected to CarPlay. All in all, this is a really slick upgrade. I was glad I chose today to work on it - no time pressure and I could just figure it out as I went. I recommend doing initial setup and working out how things work before putting the unit in and covering it all up - that way you are sure to know which cables you do need in the back and which you don’t need. My final analysis is it is basically plug and play. Don’t be too intimidated by all the cables - it will make sense once you see what your original unit has.
