Sooo long I wanted Android auto on my 2020 Corolla and now thanks to this I got it. Toyota only enabled apple carplay on the 2020 Corolla, but Android auto works with this device. It also enabled touch controls for Android auto on my 2020 Mazda cx9. 2020 cx9 only has touch controls with carplay and makes you use the wheel thingy for Android auto, but this device enabled touch for Android auto

To connect to my Android, it does really well. It did take a little bit the first time because I think I was too close to my wifi at my house.. but now that it works, it does take some time to connect when it first turns on.. but once it is connected, it works well. My wife's apple though seems to have some issues where it will show connected, but the car screen is just black. I did struggle to get to the settings on the device, it seemed to only work on my wife's iphone.

I tried many other options and never could find exactly what I needed. My 2020 Corolla only came equipped with wired CarPlay, no Android Auto. Since I use Android phones, this meant several years of not being able to use my display with my phone. Finally though, I read enough reviews to find that this is the solution, and it's not crazy expensive!BE AWARE: you need this specific Carlinkit, the 4, for this to work. I didn't realize that for a long time. The connection was so easy, once set up my phone connects every time. I don't notice a visual lag at all, only some touch or control lag, but it's barely there. So happy to finally have Android Auto (wireless, even!) in my car!

I was really hoping this would work but it wouldn't connect to my 2020 Corolla. I tried everything I could find short of a factory reset of my phone. I saw on Amazon this had a high return rate so I should have set my expectations lower.

Bought specially to use Android carplay on a Toyota Prius Prime 2021. Auto connects.A bit buggy sometimes (call audio doesn't always use the car) but it is a lot better than having to switch phones or not having access to GPS on the screen.Only the 4.0 works for some reason, and not the updated version.

I am SO thankful for this device.I have a 2020 toyota corolla, which only comes with Apple Carplay, but I only use Android phones, and with toyota's app suite gone, I needed to find a way to get maps and music to display on my infotainment system. After doing a lot of research and running into dead ends, I found out about this device, which would allow me to display android auto through an apple carplay connection.Overall, it works well and is relatively easy to set up. It has made playing music and using navigation in the car *so* much easier. And best of all, it's wireless. It does have a few bugs though. the resolution of Android Auto through Carlinkit is not as sharp as hardwired Android Auto probably would be, but that doesn't bother me much. It's a bit laggy at times (as in, there's a delay when starting and stopping music, and the touch response isn't always sensitive enough). And lately I've been having instances of audio randomly cutting out for 1 to 2 seconds. Rarely, it will not display anything, but usually unplugging and plugging it back fixes it. probably toggling with the settings might fix some of that. But overall it is wonderful and does what I need it to do, and I would highly recommend it if you use androids but have a car that only does apple carplay.

Best for:Adding wireless Android Auto (as well as wireless CarPlay) to cars with only factory wired CarPlayEspecially suited to 2020 Toyota/Lexus modelsOverview:2020 was a strange year for Toyota/Lexus, they included Apple CarPlay but no Android Auto in many models, much to the frustration of many. This product is brilliant because it is quite simply, plug and play. It doesn't require removing the center console or attaching any modules directly to the the head unit. This simply plugs into the car's USB-A port as with any typical wired CarPlay connection for the vehicle. However, that's where the magic begins. While the car thinks a compatible CarPlay phone is connected, the Carlinkit 4.0 allows either an Android or an iPhone to pair with it over Bluetooth and enables a wireless Android Auto or wireless Apple CarPlay connection. The pairing process is seamless and took a few seconds with zero glitches for setting up either wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlayThe car's factory buttons to control CarPlay/Android Auto work as expected. Lag is minimal. Audio playback works great on the car speakers. The display looks great and is not distorted at all. Also the unit is much smaller than it looks in the photos, with about the footprint of a business card it's easy to tuck away. Just brilliant. Thank you CarlinKit for developing such an exquisite solution!
