I had a lot of trouble assembling this, and once I did get it put together, I had just as much trouble getting it to stay in place. My cat isn't very fond of it, either, and actively avoids using it. I wouldn't get another one.

Initially I was irritated because the holes were drilled about 1/2 inch too short. Or maybe they were just expected to pilot holes and you to be able to drive them in using the very thin and tiny included Allen key. Nonetheless I recommend you having at least a drill to assist you in putting this together. Also no lock washers seems like a huge oversight in something that will be constantly receiving stress and force from cats jumping in and out of so I would recommend adding those as the manufacturer neglects to do so. Outside of those issues it’s a cute and easy to assemble piece with a soft hammock for cats to rest on. Here is a pic it holding our two 8lb kitties for size reference. They do seem to enjoy sitting in it together even though they both have their own.
