I extended my wifi to a separate office on my property and the wifi signal was weak., This 100' cable works well to give me a hard-wired line to the office. Even though I have tools and ability to do my own wiring I couldn't do it for any cheaper than this 100' cat5 line.

I decided to wait to write my review for this Cat5 Ethernet cable to make sure it would still be working down the road. It still works perfectly and I've been using it consistently for xbox live and my computer since I bought it. It's been walked on and had windows slammed on it so it's taken a beating but it's still holding strong nonetheless. It's not cheaply made like some other Ethernet cables online. I would definitely recommend buying it.

This cable is a good product, I read the mixed bag of reviews before buying and I have had none if the issues stated. The ends have not weakened or broken as stated and I used a rounded staple to tack it along the ceiling to my office from the main router in my house with no problems at all. I have had to disconnection issues with the pc I needed hardwired with this cord. For the money charged it is a sound value.

At a price like this, it's hard to beat it. before buying this, I was looking at 50 ft ethernet cables, and they were running at around $40. I also needed a cable long enough to run from my router upstairs into my bedroom downstairs, where I keep my xbox. This works perfect, and would recommend if you are in the market for an ethernet cable on the longer side.Only complaint is that the wrapping around the wires is a bit flimsy, and not tight around the wires. So there's a lot of give to it, if you will. But as long as it's not being kinked or compressed or anything like that, it should be perfect.

To start this review off let me just mention that I purchased (2) of these 100 Ft Cables 9 months ago. Out of the (2) cables that I bought, (1) remains. The other stopped working after 7 months of use. Now to get into the main review of this product...As I mentioned above, I bought (2) of these cables. I had my worries at first that it wasn't going to work; however, it did work. In fact it worked just perfectly. I had to run a 70 Foot Cable across my house, so I decided to buy this one as I would have a bit of extra wire to work with. The cable its self is made of very cheap material, but it works. I have had (1) of them work for a good 9 months now and it looks like it can still go on a bit more. If you want to avoid re-wiring the cable though, I would go ahead and buy something just a bit more durable than this one. If you want something that isn't expensive and that works though, by all means this is a great cable. I have Time Warner Cable and I currently have an average of 20 Mbps speed connection. The internet works great with this cable and one of them lasted me until now, but the other one stopped working all of a sudden. I guess its ok, I mean it's not as if I expected it to last a long time.Overall: If you want something at the moment that is inexpensive and that actually works then buy this cable. I can truthfully say that you won't be disappointed with it for a while. If you want something more durable that will last a good time and has a little extra to spend, then go for a more durable cable. I would rate this cable 4 out of 5 stars. Minus one for the cheap material, but + 3 for working and another + 1 for the price...I hope this review helped you out!

This cable is not a deal. No matter what you pay for it, it's still not worth it. Sure, it came in 2 days. Amazon Prime rocks - everybody know that. But the cable is garbage.- it's not copper- strands are not twisted- each strand is thin - maybe four or five thin aluminum conductors- all the coating is thin and brittle- no way it's Cat5e - see here: [...]So I ran this cable through the house. It's 100ft long, and that's why I bought it - I needed to run the cable about 60ft. But the signal was just not coming through. After reading the reviews, I decided I've got little to lose by cutting the cable so it's only 60 ft long, thinking it would work then. What I found inside answered all my questions. The cables are not color coded in line with standard Cat5, they are not twisted in pairs, and the strands are not composed of copper conductors. In other words, you are NOT getting Cat5e. Not even Cat5. Actually, not even a network cable at all, since it does not conform to the basic requirements of the category. So now I'll be pulling another cable under the floor, and through the walls, and ... You get the picture. This whole purchase was just a total waste, and I do not wish this on anyone else. So buyer beware.

You can definitely tell this is not of the same quality of most CAT5/CAT6 cable. That being said, I am still very happy with this purcase. The cable works just fine for what we are using it for. We just needed a cable to go from a modem in one room, to an old desktop in another. CAT5 cable from Best Buy/Radio Shack is literally 10 times the cost of this ($80). While this probably would not be used for anyone that plans on doing their own terminations or a profession office with lots of cables, this works perfectly for the average person just trying to connect a computer to a modem.Update: It has been approximately 4 months and this cable is still working great. Very happy with purchase.10/15/12 Update: It's been over a year, and we have not had any problems with this cable yet. I decided to come back here to buy another one for a friend that just move into a new apartment. Definitely a worthwhile purchase for the average person.

I needed a cable to connect my computer from one end of our house to the other, and up a floor. This cable was perfect. It was routed to the basement, across the house, into the garage and up to the router. I had no feet left over. As soon as I connected I had internet and no many trips a day to adjust the adapter connection for wireless. This wire was much less expensive than local stores and it worked. One warning, know where you are drilling holes. We hit the telephone wire twice!
