Since a few months I have been experiencing pain in my thumb joint whenever I use the barbell to bench press. I came across this product and was curious to see if it could give me some relief. To my surprise the thumb guard fits really well and was comfortable to use. It has given me a lot of protection and my thumb did not hurt during my workout.

I got this because I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on a catchers glove. I catch for my daughter during her pitching lessons, so for me it’s not a big deal. I’m left handed and so I catch with my right hand. I’ve had veins pop from missing a catch and this just helps so much. I think this is made for a right handed person. I turned it a bit and it works well enough because I have a small hand. I actually kind of like it because it helps keep my glove on too.

My son is 11 yo and still in youth baseball. I don't think he is any bigger than most on his team, so I would say he is average. I haven't been able to find a thumb shield for his age group. So I picked this up to see if he would work for him and keep the sting out of the pitch. My son is the catcher for his team, so he gets a lot of pitches thrown at him. Unfortunately, it does not work for my son. It is too big, but that is no fault of the item. I won't give lower stars for that. It is something that he will eventually grow into, so I think it will work for him later in his baseball years.

I had hopes for this thumb protector after an injury from catching hard pitches. Unfortunately, it folds over in the glove and doesn't seem to protect the thumb at all

I got this to try with some 9-12 year olds but it was too big/bulky. It is otherwise fine but haven't used it much.I also tried using it as an adult - I'm not a catcher, but was catching for my daughter pitching fast pitches. My observations:* My glove has a leather loop for the thumb inside. With this guard on, I cannot get my thumb to go through the loop. I prefer to have my thumb through the loop.* the guard covers my thumb and below my thumb - but the stinging pitches hit back/higher on the palm of my hand. We tried shifting it around - but didn't seem to cover the area that seems it would protect the best. We'll not hang on to this as it doesn't seem to really help much with the stinging pitches. I wouldn't use this in a game.

The material this is made with is very comfortable, providing a good amount of extra cushioning without adding a lot of weight or bulk. The design works very well to fit a variety of hand sizes from my small 5’3” hand all the way up to my husband’s larger 6’ hands.

This is a silicon piece that simply slips over your thumb and sits over your inner palm. It makes the glove a little tighter, so be aware (and maybe that'll be good for your grip). It does soften the impact of a ball hitting the thumb area, but you'll still notice it. Overall, I'd say it's a cheap barrier that's better than nothing, but it won't drastically reduce your pain on a bad catch.
