Ordered this because even though I didn't see a "max weight" recommendation on the listing, I assumed one would come with the product. There isn't one. I have no idea if I can use this ceiling hook for the application I intended and when I did the "ask a question" on Amazon, the seller never responded. Hardware isn't the best but the hook itself looks strong. Just not willing to attempt using it for our hammock swing like I planned. I will update my review if the seller ever provides an accurate maximum allowable weight recommendation.

UPDATE:I used it and as the bag turned, it slowly unscrewed the bolt holding the bag to the bracket. I noticed a lock washer was provided with the bracket, but it was too small for any of the screws. I can find another lockwasher and try again, but the correct size washer should have been provided.I just hung this, but have not fully used it yet. Prior to this mounting hooks, I hung my 100 pound bag from a chain which I drilled a huge hole for into the ceiling rafter. Not ideal, so when I saw this ceiling hook, I ordered one. It comes with swivel, and two large lag bolts. I expect this to last a long time and withstand the pounding. If it does not hold up well, I will update this review.

I have my muay thai teardrop bag hanging from this ceiling hook. Likes: 1. The price point is excellent 2. Black coating matches my updated gym room. Needs to improve: 1. The hardware is on the cheaper side but works (I have stronger bolts and washers so I chose to use what I had instead of what was included). 2. I wouldn't hang a bag that is 100lbs and above as I don't think this bracket and hardware are strong enough. I would stick to 70lbs and under. This is just my opinion as I haven't tested it with a heavier bag.

I got this to hang a chain hoist on a wooden beam. The beam is accessible on only two sides, so I have to screw into the wood, and this hanger does the trick. The included lag bolts are only partially threaded and they are small, about 5/16” (see photo). I will use longer 3/8” lag bolts that are fully threaded for added strength. The holes are easily large enough for 3/8” bolts, so that is an easy upgrade. Also, the cross bolt that comes with the hanger has full threads, so whatever you hang from it will eventually wear the threads, reducing strength. To fix that issue, I will either change the bolt to a shoulder bolt (expensive if you don’t already have one on hand) or add a metal sleeve over the bolt, again to improve the durability and strength.

I ordered the JP ADVANCE CHOICE Ceiling Hook for Hanging Heavy Bag Swivel, for a slightly different application than hanging a heavy bag. I wanted a place to lift heavy items inside the workshop, that I could use with a block and tackle setup. This ceiling hook is very heavy duty and would certainly work well for a heavy bag. It swivels, and has a heavy bolt that I can use to attach an S hook, a clevis, or carbineer for the block and tackle. I would have preferred a smooth shoulder bolt and lock nut instead of the full thread bolt, but it will work for me. It comes with a couple of heavy lag bolts for installation, and has a good matt black finish. Seems like a bargain at this price.

The JP ADVANCE CHOICE Ceiling Swivel Hook is well designed and manufactured. The material is heavy-duty and the 5/16 lag screws are long enough to hold any weight I will be putting on the fixture.I have a farm. The swivel hook has been mounted in my processing room. The ability to turn what I am working is important.I recommend this heavy-duty swivel hook.
