I procrastinated long as possible on buying a new grill. I love my 10 yr old Char-Broil RED Tru Infrared grill because it has the metal trough which stops food and liquids from reaching the burners and inside bottom. It's beyond the end of it's life with rust and a missing door (I shared a photo). Finally gave in and bought this grill. It was packed in a box with styrofoam and not a single issue with dents or missing parts. Assembly was easy. Cooked on it tonight and it gets very hot! One photo I shared shows a center grill plate. It's not included and was purchased separately and used with my old grill. Anyway, the metal lid is just as thick as the old one. Door and lid handles are heavy and will last many years. The base of the grill is not a sturdy though. It seems to wobble a bit. Likely for ventilation purposes, there isn't a back panel.I don't like this. Makes it too easy for animals to sneak inside. I'm adding a back panel. As long as the grill is covered when not in use, it should last at least 3 years.

Our Char Broil grill died after many years and found this online after a search for infrared grills. We have. 3 big box stores in town, but didn't find what I wanted. I like that foods are juicy and the flames don't ruin the meat. This works great and should last as long as our previous one. I didn't enjoy assembly, but it's done right and have no extra parts. 😃

LET THE BUYER BEWARE. I purchased this grill to replace my original Char Broil Signature three burner infrared grill. This is definitely not a replacement for that grill. I purchased this grill in error and cannot return it. Here’s the problem(s). 1. My original grill was made of relatively heavy metal. There was a large bowl housing the burner elements. This is made of a thinner metal. The construction is so light (cheap) that they actually provide a weight to be bolted to the bottom of the grill, assumable so it does not tip over should you load up too many hot dogs. Instead of a bowl containing the burner area there is a piece of flimsy sheet metal. 2. My original grill came with infrared elements (screens) with heavy duty cast iron grates that went over them. This grill only has infrared elements (no grates) so you actually cook on the elements themselves. It won’t take long for those to get nasty and rusty. They are porcelain coated but, in my experience, that coating doesn’t last long. I would much prefer the heavy cast iron grates my original had. 3. My original grill had an enclosed space (enclosed back with doors in the front) such that you had a nice compartment to place the propane tank in and extra accessories. This new grill has doors in the front but no back. Something the advertisement did not make clear. If I didn’t want a compartment I would have saved $75 and purchased the model without doors. Doors with no back… what good is that?? 4. To add insult to injury the lighting element (battery compartment and button) broke the first time I tried to install a battery. Unless I can find a replacement (Char Broil Website did not have any) I’ll be lighting my new grill with a lighter.I got my original grill for about $300. This grill, with cover, was around $500. The correct replacement for my original grill, with delivery would be $800 (on Amazon). Knowing what I know now I would either upgrade or shop locally. Sadly I cannot return this grill. On a good note I doubt this grill will last the 5 plus years my original Char-Boil did. I give it two seasons at best… that is if I don’t blow myself up trying to light the damn thing with a lighter.

assembly takes a bit of time but pretty straight forward if you just work through the instructions. i love this type of reflected heat bbq - keeps flaring to a minimum and easier to cook meats like chicken and fish. overall i am very happy with the bbq and the delivery from amazon and would recommend. do be aware it arrives in a very big and heavy box that may required some help to move.

It was easy to assemble, took me only 25-30 minutes. It does cook meat and veggies really well and it looks nice. A wheel already broke when the wind blew the grill over. It comes with a weight inside so I'm not sure how? I don't care for the three grill plates inside as they get really dirty and greasy. I clean them as best I can then put them in my dishwasher. Overall, it's a good grill, just messy then other grills I've used.

I use this grill predominantly for quick cooking items. I'm vegan so I just cook meat here and there for my husband. Everything worked the first time I started it up and assembly wasn't terribly difficult. No missing or leftover pieces! The infrared burners are great and I haven't had one flare up. The side burner is quite powerful and boiled water quickly. Overall good product for the price.

I was upgrading from a cheap, 5 year old Home Depot gas grill. This one was delivered in perfect condition, and went together as easy as any Ikea product. I am an average grill man at best, and the same day after assembling the grill, I cooked up the best burgers I had ever made. While some may say the construction is flimsy, it was better than the previous super cheap Home Depot grill. I think it depends on your past experiences, but for me this was definitely an upgrade both in build quality and performance.
