Wife says: This hammer is for dead soft or half hard thinner gauge wires or silver sheet metal. If you try to work on work hardened wire or metal it will not be strong enough. I use it to make wire wrapped jewelry.

This hammer is really lightweight which threw me off when I first got it!I use this hammer to texture the pet tags I make & each hit makes a beautiful smooth impression.Layla's tag was hammered using the small side and Fiji's tag was hammered using the wide side!
