This base is good quality and has excellent weight. Strong enough and heavy enough to easily hold a 10ft umbrella without worrying if a good wind will pull it over

Bought some outdoor umbrellas (7' diameter), as shade on the patio. The base that came with them were junk. Slightest breeze would blow the umbrella over. Decide on this base to replace the water filled plastic ones (which really required a table to hold the umbrella steady). THIS IS THE BOMB. Sturdy and heavy enough to hold the umbrella upright in a stiff breeze, no problem. The only downside is that you should probably put a plate between the pole and the screw mount to prevent the screw from punching through an aluminum poled umbrella. Would not be a problem with a wood umbrella pole, but a metal one would easily puncture. Ended up using the supplied wrench as a puncture prevention insert.
