Diameter was larger than listed, not within the 1/64" tolerance listed. One of the dowels looked great, beautiful color and texture. The other I wasn't even sure was walnut at first - much lighter in color and rough open grained wood. I'm unhappy but it would cost more than half as much to ship one back as I paid for them to do a return. I wish I could've seen these in person, unfortunately no one local has them. Pretty disappointing as this won't work for my project now.

Nice dowel and the grain is such that it should prevent splitting or cracking in half.

Dowel rod had ripples and over half of WALNUT rod was blonde.
