I got this as a placeholder in the filter mount adapter for when I didn't want to be using the polarizer. It works just as it should. :-)

Purchased the MK-EFTR-C Drop-in Filter Mount Adapter EF to EOSR with the circle polarizing filter and when I am not using it I drop in the clear filter as you must have a filter in the adapter at all times. No loss of sharpness and/or color. Very happy

Although it’s a generic filter for Canon’s dripping adapter, it fits just fine.

I bought Clear and ND1000 (10 Stop ND) Filters. Fit for my Commlite adapter (because manufactured in same tool), but bit loose, same as my "original" Commlite CPL Filter. I checked at it in direct midday sunlight I have not experienced it light leaking. By the way some kind of foam gasket would be nice for minimalize the loose and add protection from dust. The Antireflex Coating is OK booth sides. The ND1000 color is pretty neutral, no green/brown/blue, and very homogeneous even of Ultra Wide angle or Fisheye Lenses. No vignetting like the filter on front of lens, this is big advance of this system! I plan to buy it ND 64 (6 Stop), and Slim side open Storagebox and more dark ND Filter (16 Stop) would be nice. The marking on the side you can't see very well, I recommend more visible sign for identification for the manufacturer... Al in all this is nice product, I recommend for my friends.

I was initially concerned about the build and fit. The fit because of light leaks. It does NOT leak. The fit is firm enough. Another concern was color changes and distortion. The color may shift if pixel peeped, but in real-time I have found it to hold color well. As far as distortion, there is none, however my advise is to have the unit in it's substantial case and sleeve, or in the adapter. Do not set it down, put it in a pocket, or otherwise treat it like a piece of oem gear. It is not, and it should be treated with care. I believe that any pressure on the filter lens will give wrinkles and cause distortion. The only gripe I have is something that would have given it a little more discernment from the other types. There is a fake rotating wheel on it. It's clear and has no need for it. It should either not be there, or not move. This way at a glance or touch you'll know it is the clear one equipped. Regardless, overall it's an excellent product. No-brainer purchase.

Yes it fits the Canon EF-RF adapter BUT it is designed for the Commlite adapter. Filters designed for the Canon do not easily fit the Commlite, this one does! Doing as trophotography it is a good idea to always refocus anytime you change a drop-in filter.

Bought this filter for $40 which is a $90 savings over the factory Canon version which costs $130. I don't doubt that the genuine Canon one works well but I can't see any reason that this $40 knockoff is any inferior. It works good mechanically with the mount adapter and I've seen no deterioration in image quality. I don't shoot 45MP photos but I use the 8K RAW and 4K HQ video modes often for content creation. For my purposes, this clear filter works wonderfully and would definitely recommend it.

If you are using either the Ykeasu or Canon Filter Adaptor and you don't want to use either the Variable Neutral Density insert or the Circular Polarizer insert, you will need the Clear Filter to plug the "gap" left in the adaptor. Comes MUCH cheaper than the Canon Clear Filter, and to my eyes works just as good.
