About this item

  • Impervious to the elements
  • Made of the heaviest grade Polypropylene available
  • Duplicate their real counterparts in length, size and feel

The best of the world's martial artists have known a simple truth for ages... if you want to become reasonably good at wielding a Fighting implement, you should endeavor to learn the best Fighting techniques, footwork, and the basic stances. However if you want to be a master at it you will have to eventually start training with a "live weapon". if, for example, your ultimate goal is to wield a razor sharp sword safely and effectively, you need to train with a sword that approximates the size, feel and heft of a live blade, yet minimizes the possibility of causing grievous, permanent, or life threatening injury to yourself or your training partner. This concept was implemented by the ancient Romans, who used dull wooden swords to train their gladiators and soldiers. And Japanese samurai used a wooden training sword that was called a bokken. It's an elegant solution to a vexing problem and effective enough to still be used today. The only problem is that a wooden training weapon can Rot, crack, chip or splinter and eventually become useless. Cold Steel solution to these dilemmas was to design a line of synthetic substitutes, that are low in price and impervious to the elements. The Cold Steel line of training weapons are made of the heaviest grade polypropylene available and closely duplicate their Real counterparts in length, size and feel. While they're not quite as rigid as wood, they have the winning advantages of being virtually unbreakable, remarkably stiff and cut resistant. Features: - impervious to the elements - made of the heaviest grade polypropylene available - duplicate their Real counterparts in length, size and feel - virtually unbreakable, remarkably stiff and cut resistant. Specifications: - overall length: 20" - blade length: 13" - weight: 12.3 oz. - thickness: 1"

Handles well, the blade is straight sturdy and it fits just right in my hand, simple design but very appealing. The classic weapon designs really are still good. It is SOLID

Utilitarian design with the guard having a nice tight fit to prevent slippage. Sturdy option, made with the same goals in mind as the CS training hand-and-a-half (2H) sword. Very durable, and it has a long lade for a dagger.

Sturdy and fun, but not practical for any type of sparing. Get the longer swords by Cold Steel and you'll be happy you did. However, these make great gifts for the kids at a descent price if they can't handle the weight of the long swords.

These are high quality practice daggers. They work great along side the cold steel swords.

It appears to be very sturdy and well-made. Haven't used it yet, but happy with build and appearance.

This is a solid sparring dagger, made from the same material as the Cold Steel hand and a half sparring sword, and they go well together. It's tough enough to block a pretty heavy swing from a sword of the same material.

There's a lot to say about this item, the length and weight is amazing, ultra light and the shape is great too! It's like a blade shaped baton if anything else. These things are really sturdy, barely bends and the tip came sharp so be careful ! You can honestly use this as a real weapon if you had to do if you are using this for sparring, I highly recommend sanding down the tip for sure cuz the material makes it too sturdy that it actually keeps a sharp pointed tip

Larger and obviously not a real dagger, but the shape is great. This makes it good for a costume prop. Especially if painted. Can't vouch for it's "training" purposes. Do people actually "train" with medieval daggers anymore?
