I hope you can see by my pictures that I have utilized quite a few of the options for this wireless mic. 1. Mounted on a DSLR for one thing, and using the direct wired feed into the camera. 2. Same mounting but using the Receiver to route the audio to the camera. 3. Mounting it on my own blimp for use on a boom pole (or hand held). 4. It actually works straight into my iPhone with the audio adapter dongle. And the levels were crazy good on that!One of my fav items about this is on the mount, and that is actually the screw tightener for mounting the mount on the camera. Unlike other products, this one sticks out far enough and has variable flutes in it so you can actually grip it and turn it! Love that.The digital readouts are very clear on this mic, and the sound is clean. I'm not sure at this point about distance, but the literature says 100m (328 feet). I will likely have the opportunity to test that soon.Love the smooth dial at the back of the mic for at-the-mic gain control. That lets my sound person adjust the level right at the mic even when they're away from the camera and the director with the headphones on signals with a thumbs up that they need more.With the high level of cardioid direction that this mic has, surrounding sounds are taking a back seat, so this can be used in a mixed environment in the studio as well.Love this mic! Feel like I really found something. And I'm a veteran producer and videomaker. So there's that.Placement of the mic can be anywhere in the range, and even be hidden behind something, getting really close to the action without a boom. That's very cool because it can be propped up on the ground under the actors and almost right where they are.
