I love this. I've been using a square for years for work. They do the job. Having this one without the "T" on the end allows for easier lines on flat surfaces and allows it to be used for more than a line on a board. Use it once and you will be sold on it. Well worth the money.

Versatile tool. Speed square would still be my go to for framing and siding but this square is useful for trimming and for odd small tasks. It works for framing as well but the back and forth gets a little cumbersome.

I was unsure about buying this tool because of the cost, but I decided I needed it because of the fold down flat feature. I do remediation on commercial, and residential buildings. I do structural framing, metal flashing and caps, siding and finishing carpentry. I have to say this is a game changer for me. Marking flashing is much easier, marking tgi joists, and birds mouth on rafters with the jig is pretty sweet and fast. Love it

I am an experienced carpenter, frame to finish with diverse days. I don't love this square for me, but a lot of people will! I truly love my Stanley yellow and black plastic square. This one is much heavier and I don't like that it's 1/2" bigger than every other square. I also don't like the confusing numbering along the ruler edge and I don't like how wide the flange is when it's flipped over- can't set it flush against a clapboard, for example. All those are preferences, objectively it's a sweet, well made, accurate and innovative tool. A steal for the price I paid compared to the competition.

Little pricey but are very tough this square will last you awhile. It's very accurate and the folding barrier is a huge help when needing to use it on flat surfaces

This is a high quality square. Much better than what I have been using for many many years. You can tell this square is tough, and will hold up on building projects. The laser marking are clear and easy to see in all light levels. I have eye troubles, but I could see the markings without any issues. The SmartSquare was used while building my backyard shed. The way the fence can change sides is very nice, but what makes it special is the ability to use the square for flat work. Used the flat work position a few times on this project. One was to help square up the windows for an easy way to connect the corners and to make sure they were square. Also used the flat work ability while laying out the drawing for the rafter angles. I could lay the square flat on my concrete to do some drawings. The jig was also very nice to have. Once the angles were decided, the jig enabled each and every angle to be the exact same. Made for quick work of cutting tails and the birdsmouths. This is a professional level tool. I look forward to my next project.

I've been reading about this and saw it at a tools show -- NOW I HAVE ONE! The SmartSquare is a great new tool that re-invents the old speed square. I just got it today but will be using it tomorrow and will post pictures. First look at my own SmartSquare is impressive -- quality materials, sharp looking markings, and new features like the SmartSquare lays flat on the working material unlike any other speed square or rafter square. It has this cool feature where I can quickly move the fence to either side of the SmartSquare. Looking forward to using it tomorrow!This tool is impressive and I am already thinking of ordering another one with the two level vials to replace the torpedo level I usually carry.Thanks SmartSquare! I have been looking forward to this "reinvented" speed square!
