This is a pretty good product for re-weaving chairs. Try to keep it as wound as tight as possible so that it does not fray where it can be seen on the top of the chair. If people would paythe price for the work that you’ve done then it would be a good value for the money. The quality seems fine but you must pay attention to the tension you keep on the rush so that it does not unwound while using. Do not soak it for too long, it will break on you. I would count to 15 seconds pull out of the water manipulate, turnover count for 15 seconds and do the same thing on the other side and that was it. So far I have gotten two chairs out of the spool.

I was able to reweave all four dining room chairs with the kit. The book cleared up some questions that the video found on youtube didn't cover and my chairs look wonderful. I did end up soaking my fiber rush a bit longer than suggested but it makes it easier to handle and keeps it in place better after it dries. Also, I used four coats of clear shellac after I was finished weaving and now my chairs look like new.

I haven't gotten to use it yet, but I love this kit already. I came across Ed Hammond's instructional videos on youtube when researching how to weave a rush seat and he is the BEST! When I came on amazon to find the rush I was so happy to see that I could get a rush kit from the man himself! With this kit along with his very informative and easy to follow instructional videos I'm looking forward the redoing my chairs. A must buy for a newbie rush seat weaver!
