I wanted to like this hat, but it's not a good fit, not attractive, not warm (too light weight for winter), and yes, the cords are not well designed. I did not return, it but neither have a worn it. I think it probably takes a very specific head shape and size. Not mine.

This hat is exactly what I wanted. When we walk for exercise on a sunny day I need a hat with a brim for the sun but I also need my ears to be covered This hat provides both my requirements. I’ve used it a few times and I love it.

I would give it a 4.5 just because the fleecesherpa that they used for a liner is going to pill really bad I suspect. Also it would be nice if the chin strap came apart as it can be challenging when you want to put the flaps up and down, but those are minor points. I would not hesitate to buy another. Warm and cuts the wind really well with the flaps down.

This hat feels a little cheap but it works decently well. It is warm and I like that the ear flaps can be tied up if not needed. The velcro on the back helps to adjust how tight it is to get the perfect fit. I like that brim to wear when I am out and it is snowing or lightly raining to keep my face dry. The Sherpa lining is soft and makes it warm, but it doesn't breathe well, so I tend to sweat when I wear it. For the price point, it is a great outdoor hat for casual use. I would recommend it for less strenuous activities like bird watching as opposed to hiking.

The hat works for the Florida winter, but is a bit thin for any real cold.
