Using this on my base model Wii, and it's worked great for months now. Absolutely zero issues. You only need to plug in an HDMI cord like most modern consoles with this adapter. (You don't need to populate the audio jack)

This little part made it so I was able to play my Wii on our bigger flatscreen. It was a huge help and easy to use!

This was my first ever "converter" purchase for old inputs to new. I definitely wish I would've shopped around for something more universal rather than Wii specific but you live and learn. At the end of the day, this works for what I needed. My Wii can connect via HDMI to the modern TV I wanted it connected to. I eventually got it to function and work beautifully. It just wasn't without issue..I definitely felt some input lag at widescreen settings. I tried all the different Wii settings and my TV's input settings for 16:9. It just never felt or looked right. The delay was just enough to be noticeable. The picture looked a little washed in both texture and color. I dunno if the adapter is trying to do some low quality upscale or what is happening but it just missed the mark with widescreen. Depending on your preferences it was borderline passable. I personally found it ugly and gameplay affecting. On 4:3 though? Things are superb. There is no discernible input lag and the picture is crisp and colorful. I do plenty of retro and retro handheld gaming so black bars don't bother me. And honestly, it's how the Wii is meant to look and be played. The widescreen "support" was always a partially stretched afterthought. You can do a deep dive on this online. I know I fell down a rabbit hole. I love the way I got everything to look on my modded Wii at 4:3 when all was said and done. The Wii has never looked so good. Though I completely understand that many people will want their screens filled out and would expect it from this device. So I'd just caution that in my scenario, I experienced a picture quality drop and input lag when trying anything and everything on 16:9.The sound isn't good or bad. It's there. And over HDMI. I have no idea why they include 3.5mm, must be a regional thing.End of the day you get what you pay for like with many things. It's a cheap solution with cheap results at 16:9. If you can deal with 4:3, you'll get decent bang for the buck. Either way I would suggest shopping around for universal input convertor boxes that you can use with other devices. I mean, you're wanting to play a Wii in the 2020's on a TV without component in; You're bound to want to do the same with a different console or device eventually. Pay up for something else that isn't confined to just a Wii. I wish I would have (and probably eventually will). If you only need a Wii specific solution and are cheap or going with 4:3; This (and the dozens of other clones of it on Amazon) will work.

Combined with a hdmi video capture card it works perfectly to make my Wii be able to be used on my laptop. Haven't had any issues with it so far.

This is a great wii to hdmi converter. The only thing I would say is if you want to buy this I would really only buy this if you want to save time not waiting for it to arrive. As you are mainly just paying for a faster delivery time.

The only downside I had was its size of the adapter because I have my wii's back touching the wall and I had to reposition it. Make sure you have the right video setting for your choice of display or it will look bad.

Doesn't actually let me view in widescreen and puts fuzzy lines across the screen instead. Worse than just using the av cords that come with the Wii
