I ordered this for a foster dog to lay on either in or out of their kennel. The warm side was very soft and you could definitely feel the difference between the warm and cooler side. My dog seems to enjoy lying on the warm side. As it’s early spring in Chicago area, there wasn’t a need to use the cooling side, but again, by touch can feel the difference.It is not advertised, but as a side note, this is not waterproof. The dog peed on this and it did leak through.

I’ve been using this mat in one of my new Golden Retriever puppy’s crates.I particularly like that it’s double-sided. Since it’s quite warm here, we’ll be using the cooling side mostly, and it really is cool and has a nice feel. Initially, she chewed at it a bit, but she hasn’t caused any issues with it. It lays down nicely and doesn't wrinkle . It also washes up easily in the washing machine because it’s so soft and pliable, but again doesn't wrinkle . I’m very happy with this mat and plan to use it in other places when we start using the crate less frequently.

The description for this product is a cozy, warm cat bed, but the title says it's a dog cooling mat. I chose this product hoping it truly was the cooling mat, and it is! My dog lay on this cooling mat right away. The size is perfect and the material is nice and sturdy. I'm thrilled to have this mat for the upcoming summer season!"Update: We used this cooling pad in conjunction with a cozy travel dog bed this past weekend. During the 6-hour car trip, our little guy stayed comfortable and was not nearly as anxious as usual. It was super helpful having this cooling pad in our cabin at night too! If I could, I'd give it 6 stars!

This is a small, thin cooling pad, similar in thickness to a waterproof mattress pad. I ordered the large size for my two 55-lb pooches.. I knew the description was incorrect and that the pad would not be 73" long. It's 35"x23 and does have a cooling effect (I tried myself by maintaining skin contact). My pups will enjoy using it when summer weather arrives. One star docked for the price, which is silly. One star docked for the thin construction.

Cat approved mat that has material that feels pretty durable, not like some flimsy thing that'll rip the second a claw gets near it.The "Q-MAX >0.45" thing they advertise? Honestly, I looked it up. Apparently, it's a measure of how cool the fabric feels to the touch. And yeah, it does feel noticeably cooler than just the floor or their regular beds. The "cooling" isn't like sticking your face in a freezer, it's more of a consistent, gentle coolness that dissipates their body heat. You don't need to plug it in or anything, which is a huge plus – no extra wires to trip over or electricity bills to worry about. It just works passively.The flip side is the warm, furry side. I love stuff that acts like a 2 in 1. This dog cooling mat is really better than I expected. When I brought it inside, we were having a rainy and fairly cool night, so I thought it was cool because of being in the truck way after dark; however, this mat really does stay cooler than the surroundings. I’m not saying it feels like a refrigerator, but I am saying that it does feel cooler than other things around it. I really do like the sort of silky and textured fabric it’s made of, and the back side is a nice fluffy warmer fabric. If you need something to help your four-footed furry friend stay a little cooler, this could possibly be a good choice.

We're watching a older Labrador Retriever at the moment and as soon as this came out of the pack, he was sure it was meant for him. He's not the largest dog, but this is a good size for at least 60-70 pound pups.The cool side material feels good and fairly thick, so good when those puppy nails get in there. The soft side has a good feel and there is more padding on this mat than we've found with other cooling pads.Stitching is good, nice padding, and we'll see how it holds up when the weather actually gets hot, but we have a good feeling about this one.

I have a cooling blanket made from similar material and they both act th same. The pad feels very cool when you first touch it, but after a while the effect is not so noticeable. Once you get off the mat, it doesn't take long for the cooling sensation to return. Since the weather is getting warmer, I thought this would be nice to have for myself.I am usually cold. However, I don't sweat very much, so I also tend to overheat. I'm 5'7" and this mat is long enough to cool my torso. (Which is where most of my heat is anyways.) I find this mat takes the edge off the heat. There is this fuzzy material underneath the mat that makes it feel a little plush and sturdy.
