It seems pretty sturdy yet comfortable so it does not cut in to you like traditional cups. I have not taken a kick to the groin wearing it yet, but I would say it's great for grappling or activities where you not going to be getting hit in the groin all of the time but more on occasion accidentally. I say this because the flexibility of the martials do make it more comfortable but I do not know if they will be as protective from a direct intentional goin shot.But so far no complaint other than I might need a bigger size.

My favorite cup I’ve tried. So far it’s done a great job of protecting me and my sparring partners, better than shockdoctor no doubt, and seems like it will last probably forever

I ordered this for my Fallout Vault Dweller Halloween outfit. The vault suit I have is a little tight in the nether regions and let's just say I needed something to cover better. I ordered this in hopes that it wouldn't bring attention down there but this athletic cup was too 'bulgy' and definitely made things worse haha. I ended up just wearing multiple compression shorts to hide my stuff better in the costume but I did test out the cup beforehand and It does offer protection from surprise hits/kicks down there.

Okay, my title was more for humor than in seriousness.I've trained in some martial art or another for years, including lots of Krav, where a good quality and well fitting cup is essential.i was somewhat surprised that, when i wrote this reviews, none of the previous ones mentioned the elephant in the room. By design, this is a very clear.. uhh.. homage to the popular and very good Diamond MMA cup.By looks alone, you'd almost mistake one for the other.In some regards, they are similar - the overall volume and size, for instance, and absolutely the design, pattern, and color. There's no way it's not intentional.There's also the question of how this is worn vs the Diamond product. This can certainly be put in compression shorts with a cup pocket, and it'll work well enough, I guess. But it doesn't include any of the more "engineered" shorts or supporters, which help keep the cup in position, greatly improving the protection.Also, the sides/perimeter on this are way more flexible than the Diamond product. I think in some cases, that's good - it makes it more comfortable, especially if you've got bigger legs. On the other hand (back to the Krav theme), all that flexibility makes this cup basically "compressible" under a hard impact, and that's, uh, not always a feature you want.I think this would be a good choice for say baseball, or if you use a cup for BJJ, the flexible sides are a benefit. But if you're planning on a krav, or any martial art with a serious striking component, both those flexible sides and the idea it can't be easily matched with a good set of shorts are big drawbacks.

The athletic cup fitted on me comfortably, but it gets hot and moist very quickly. I wish there were small breathing holes or something for air circulation. The material felt strong and durable for protection during sports.

From looking at the pictures I assumed it would be vented but it is not. The divots at the top are just that, small indentations in the surface. Still its fits well and is comfortable to wear. The shape is right. The front side of the cup is hard enough and the edges are soft enough as expected.

This cup is now my new favorite. It is heavy duty and has some weight to it. So, you will want to wear it with a tight jockstrap or compression shorts, or both. The shape protects you all around from taint to top. And there is plenty of room for us girthy guys. I can't fit into most cups but this one fits like a glove. It contours perfectly to the body and allows for unrestricted movement. Hands down the best cup I have, would highly recommend!
