We have some chipmunks and mice that chew their way into our garage around the door base.They also try to sneak in under the siding where it meets the foundation.This copper mesh is the only thing that keeps them out.They rip right through foam fillers.They'll also rip out the mesh if it's filled loosely.Pack it super tight; use enough in each hole that you're thinking "that seems like too much"; then pump foam into the mesh to try and seal the holes.

I like this so much better than steel wool. Steel wool fights me if I need a small piece and sometimes leaves little splinters. Steel wool also doesn't compress as much as this mesh. This mesh will allow you to roll it lengthwise and roll for an about nickel-sized rope. All I need to do is cut off a piece, cover it in caulk, and place it where needed.

This is my new go-to product, mainly to repel pests. It can also be used for scrubbing and cleaning, but we live in the country -- and something is always trying to chew its way into our two sheds that back up to the woods. Just cut off a length as needed (cuts easily with scissors), wad it into a ball, and push into any gaps or holes that critters have made. (In our case, we're also repairing over the top of the copper to keep it from getting wet and rusting.) I've also recently learned that this copper mesh can be used around Hosta plants to keep slugs from chewing them up -- another problem with living at the edge of a woods. I'm looking forward to having nicer looking plants next year! Note that it's not just one layer of 5" high mesh - It's a tube (so two layers 5" high when flattened). Copper is expensive, but this seems like a good buy -- and well worth it to keep our sheds pest-free (and damage free) and my Hosta plants from being riddled with holes from slugs and other pests.
