The downspout was missing on the front of the garage gutter so water splattered everywhere. This rain chain did the job, and also elevated the look of the front yard. Very classy.

The rain chain arrived just as my gardener did to do a final spruce up before a party later in the day. My installation was a little unusual as it was needed to direct a leak from a joint which has been impossible to correct. I had placed a rain barrel under the leak, but there was no way to use a downspout. We rigged a large funnel under the joint and placed the chain inside so it could direct the water into the barrel. It is gorgeous! We had to remove a couple of cups, or I may move the cups closer together to accommodate them all. Either way, I cannot be more pleased and will be ordering at least 1, perhaps 2 more. The copper will develop a patina over time, and the richness of the gleaming copper is a real enhancement. Do I recommend this product? You durn betcha' I do! Both my gardener and my party guests were duly impressed, and I should probably ask for a commission for the 3 new customers I've sent!Funnel Update:I was able to locate a beautiful copper funnel to replace the quick-fix plastic one. Wow! The size is perfect, it was easy to install, and I've just ordered two more to fix similar leaky bracket issues. Now, if the weatherman will just cooperate...

I needed to get a gutter on my garage in my newly purchased home (vintage 1929) in California (we're having a blessedly wet drought here this year). I thought the rain chain would be superior to a down-spout and I was absolutely right. It's pretty. I didn't anticipate that it would make the whole "put up a gutter" thing so much easier but it did. We got the top gutter up and then simply hung this chain in and VOILA! All done!!I was a little worried that it wouldn't do a good job, throwing water on the walls and missing the rain barrel in the torrential rains we've been getting but it works like a champ! Finally - do make a point of measuring how long you need it. They have a 6' & 8' one. Mine happens to be perfect for hanging over my rain barrel, but that was blind luck.

This is a great product! Looks Awesome! Made of pure copper, 8' length, 12 school bell shaped cups. Works as advertised. Customer service is also great! I actually bought this item in the 6' length first but then asked Marrgon if they had an extension. They did not, but said that they did now have a 8' rain chain. They said I could return the 6' rain chain for a refund without any issues and order the 8' rain chain, which I did. There were no problems. Thank you, Marrgon.

Copper is very thin and so is the chain, I guess I was expecting better quaility for the price

A beautiful and very good quality product. I find the cups to be totally sufficient for the task, and it worked great in our first light rain. I'm concerned that the chain links may be too light to hold the weight of ice buildup in freezing rain conditions. I'll try to update this review, if we have such weather this winter. Also, the pictures do not show that the last cup at the bottom of the chain is connected to that last link in the chain. Thus, to attach an anchor at the bottom of the chain you have to improvise something that goes up through the bottom of the last cup. I did this with bare #10 solid copper electrical wire, but don't look too close cause this part ain't pretty. It would be helpful if the chain links ran all the way through the bottom of the last cup (this would be 5 or 6 more links) leaving one or two links exposed where you could attach an anchor.
