It doesn't sound like a freight train.. like other battery powered vacuums, but it is still light duty.

Ordered this battery-powered shop vac as an "extra" in the workshop when areas need vacuuming that are out of easy reach of my other vacuum/dust collector. Here's what I thought:1. This vac comes with much of what you might need for vacuuming: 3 nozzles, including floor, hose, dry filter and wet filter. There are also wheels you will have to attach.2. The suction is very good. It had no problem with vacuuming up smaller wood chips and even pine needles.3. In order to test battery usage, I used this to clean bulkhead stairs. There was a combination of pine needles, dirt and assorted debris. I inserted a 2A battery (there is room in the compartment for large Dewalt batteries) and got about halfway down the steps before the battery ran out. Another one finished the job but it was at its end just as the job was finished. Total time was perhaps 10 minutes. That's okay for battery usage, given the good suction this vac has, but unless you have larger amp batteries you will need a reserve battery to finish most workshop jobs.4. The hose is functional but a bit stiff. I doubt it can be replaced unless you can find another with exactly the same ends.5. One issue I had with the vac is that it is very lightweight and a pull risks turning it over. After I noticed this, I added weight to the bottom by adding a metal plate that was laying around. If you are planning on carrying this around while vacuuming that won't be a problem.6. A second issue is that it does not come with a filter bag. I do not like to clog up the filters and waited to use this until I had ordered and received a generic bag for a 5-gallon shop vac. It would be better if a bag was included with this.In sum, this is a good vac with good suction. The lack of a bag and bottom weight give this 4 stars.

I really like this thing. I can use my DeWalt batteries on it. Great for the boat really nice suction power highly recommend.

Although not as powerful as we had hoped, this vacuum gets constant use. It would be nice if the attachments stayed on the unit better, but that's a minor complaint compared to how happy we are with it.

During a flood of our basement, we used our shop vac to start sucking the water out of the area. It was several inches deep.My fear was the plug going under the water and causing electrocution.Sometimes you have a job that isn't anywhere NEAR an outlet.We had a window well fill up with water and had to run extension cords to get to the area because it wasn't near anything. It was the far side of the house.That's when this is handy. It runs on batteries so there's no cord involved. You don't have to fear electrocution.My hubby has lots of DeWalt batteries so it fits right in with his whole DeWalt tool set.It's not the tanker that our other one is, but it's compact and transportable and free from the tether of a long cord.Pretty nice.
