I like having stairs to get out of the lake, instead of a ladder. They work well and look good, however the railings are wobbly. The railings are attached by sliding a square rod into a square slot. They both are aluminum and screwed together but the fit isn't tight, thus the wobble.

Purchased the "CO-Z 5 Step Boat Rope Ladder, Folding Marine Rope Ladder with Heavy Duty 440 lb. Strength, Portable Outdoor Climbing Rope Ladder for Inflatable Boat Kayak Fishing Boat Pontoon Canoeing" and sent it back immediately. Out of the box the plastic steps rotate around the rope which seems to be by design. All fabric ladders will push away from you as soon as you step on them in the water so this ladder would be unsafe as your wet feet would fall off the step immediately.

One of the biggest issues with our previous rope ladder was the lack of structural integrity as you climb out of the water, leading you to sway and struggle to get a grip on the boat to pull yourself up and in. The braces covering the side ropes help ensure this ladder maintains it's ladder-structural integrity when climbing out of the water. It is simple to connect and disconnect to the boat. it folds fairly compact to store in the boat. the steps have a plastic hardened covering that has some grip for your feet to provide more stability.

This lightweight collapsable rope fits perfectly in the sailboat and is very helpful for those times when the boat capsizes and it is slick trying to get back into the vessel. I am grateful to have the rope for those rare times when I need to climb from the lake back into the boat when in the middle of the water. It is sturdy and just long enough for me to hoist myself back in the boat.

One of my concerns about going offshore is the possibility of falling off the boat and not being able to climb back in. I have a Bluetooth kill switch to prevent the boat from motoring away. I do carry a standard hook over the ladder onboard, but that requires competent crew to deploy which isn’t always the case. This rope ladder seems like a possible answer for self recovery. The ladder itself feels very well made with significantly thick rope and step pieces. The clips are locking and in my case fit on the cleats to deploy. This type of ladder is not easy to climb, you need significant strength to keep the steps from just folding under the boat, but it will work. This ladder was very affordable, not that one should cut corners on safety gear. This rope ladder is a good addition to my boat and I will connect to the cleat and tie it up with a light line and I can reach from the water to untie. I’ll give it a water test soon, but I expect it will work fine.

So glad we found this ladder. First day out on our small inflatable and we decided to anchor and go for a swim and jumped over the side. That was the easy part. Getting back in was a nightmare. Then we got this ladder. We use a small strap and connect the two clips directly to it, then connect it to the lift point in the boat at the bow. Makes getting back in really simple and easy. Best of all it rolls up nice and small to fit nicely in a small (10') RHIB. Nice solid construction.

Super product for getting in and out of the water for swimming. Could use another couple of bolts to make it feel a little more stable. The whole family liked it.
